davis101
Is it common for the spray bar to fall off quite easily as well as the bottom to fall of easily? Or is mine just a dud? If the water level exceeds the top of the filter or it gets bumped the spray bar goes flying off and water comes gushing out of the top an makes a real mess. blink
I didn't use mine long but I found that yes, the spray bar could come off quite easily. The bottom never seemed to come off though, perhaps you've got a weak or broken clip.
davis101
Do you know If there is a quick fix for the spray bar besides siliconing it in place? I think the clip is a bit week. I replaced it with a couple of small sunsun internal filters but it would be nice to have it as a reliable back up lol
ckmullin
I don't have that model so is it just two pipes that connect, one into the other sort of deal?
davis101
It's the connection where the spray bar connects to the top of the filter. I was thinking if I could somehow thicken either side that the connection would be tighter.
ckmullin
If it's that sort of joint grab plumbers teflon tape. Wrap it 3-4 times tight and give that a go. I've done similar sorts of quick little tightening fixes like this where just a smidgen is needed to make a joint tighter.
davis101
Okay thanks I might have to give that a try. I read about using Teflon tape to make the motor quieter on the nanos too. Does Teflon have/release any chemicals?
ckmullin
not that I'm aware.
davis101
Ok thanks. I will give it a shot.
davis101
So far it's worked like a charm. Hopefully it stays that way. I also put Teflon on the motor and also where it connects at the bottom and everything seems to fit together a lot better.
