Luckily, I don't think it's too fresh because soaking it over night and all day today seemed to do the trick. But, we'll see- I could be (and likely am) completely wrong. Either way, I'm liking it more than the grape wood so far... I feel bad for completely dislodging all the critters in there but it had to happen.
