Angelfish Laid Eggs

I have 7 angels I have had for about 4 months. Yesterday one laid eggs (Koi angel). No idea the dad, I haven't had much time to find out.

I don't really want to block off my 2 canister filters, separate the parents or fry if they hatch. I am going to assume some will get eaten, sucked up into the filter and have few survivors. Should I expect any to survive?

It's a 65 gallon planted tank. First time with angels. I was told it is difficult to breed them. I just don't want to be over run with angels.

Young parents usually eat their first several batches of eggs/fry. You won't be overrun any time soon. :)

Actually angels aren't that hard to raise if you hatch them artificially. In a community tank, the eggs will usually get eaten. Mother Nature knows best and if the water conditions go bad, an entire spawn can be gone in 24 hours..

I don't know if you still are wondering or had any survive... But I have raised several batches of angels (koi also) in my tank. When I see the eggs or notice the behaviour that tells me they are coming, I usually put a divider in my tank if possible separating the parents and eggs, if they have already laid them. I will also put an air stone close enough to help create a current, but not close enough to disturb the parents fanning the eggs. I have never had an issue with the parents eating the eggs or fry...my loaches on the other hand love the eggs.
