johnsmith
Before I read the post about humidifier fibre-stuff I bought a bag of Mountain Mist fiberloft 100% polyester fiberfill. Most other bags said they contained anti-mildew agents and this one didn't so I figured it's safe. Does anyone know for sure? And yes, I will be using the rest to stuff the lobotomized doll I just knit. -ham-
BT05
I use the exact same stuff in my reef aquarium. Wal-Mart right? I heard of people using air conditioner or humidifier foam too (can't remember which one it is) but I've never been able to get mroe details on that... canucklehead
That doll is just creepy :ph43r: As long as the stuff is not mildew resistant it should be fine. The only problem with the stuff is it tends to compact a lot. It definitely catches a lot of crap and its so cheap you can just throw it out instead of cleaning it. rudy
I would get batting not fiber fill. It will break apart and get into impellors or pumps ands wreck them. I use that brand, but not the fiber fill.
Naruto
I am cyclying my 230 gal tank and using anti-mildew agent polyester fiberfill in the sump. Should I drain the water, replace theanti-mildew polyester fiberfill and refill the water or just replace the anti-mildew polyester fiberfill? Nyasa
Hey Kris, I use the same stuff in my AC filters. I rinse it in discarded tank water and place between the two foams of my AC. It traps a lot of crap in it. I discard with each water change. HTH. David.
johnsmith
So far this stuff has worked well for me. I just have it on top of the sponge and use some egg crate to keep it in place. I also throw it out each week with the water change. I'll look into getting the batting next time. Thanks everyone.
