Tanker
Argon/CO2 Flowmeter -designed for MIG welders -Diaphram type regulator valve -controls flow up to 60 SCFH -Max Pressure 4,000 PSI -Internal low pressure safety relief device -Porous metal inlet filter -Calibrated to 60 PSI outlet pressure @ 22 C Found that in a hardware0type local store (not telling which one, yet... don't want them selling out before I can buy mine if it's ok to use ) and I wanted to check to see if that's what I need for a pressurized CO2 system or if I just need one half of a cutting torch set-up or should I just order a purpose built rig from the States? Or if cutting torch regs can be used... oxy or acetylene? Stats: Acetylene - 0-36 PSI, Flow 530 SCFH Oxygen - 0-230 PSI, Flow 3,000 SCFH Options?? seajays
Princess Auto has a Argon regulator $69.00 Flow meter $119.
Milan
Not sure, but seems to me that it's one of those with fixed output. 60 PSI is too much for CO2 injection. I believe, it should be around 10 or less. BTW, what the flowmeter is for?
seajays
No it is not fixed. It can be turned rigth down to 0 I have them on my tig and mig
Tanker
Ya, that's where I saw the flowcontrols... and they have torch gauges for $59 each that could be easily rigged up for use as well... but the 'all in one' set up in the US seems like a MUCH easier thing, all in all... opinions? seajays
I think the Argon/Co2 regulator set would be better than torch guages. They are a little smaller also. The flow control gives a more precise flow control. I have no experience in the plant end only in the welding side.
Tanker
Sounds good to me, thanks for the input. I'll be sourcing the tank this weekend and should have it all hooked up in a week... see what happens. Worse thing, doesn't work and I'm out $70. pffft. Magicide
Look on e-bay for a tank. I found my 5 lb tank new for $50 CDN. Most of the auctions say shipping to continental US only but if you contact the seller you can often get them to ship it up here for a couple dollars more. seajays
You can get a tank at Oxygen Products full for $100. It's a welding store.
jvision
Yeah, like seajay says, the welding shops are the places to look. I even heard it mentioned somewhere that someone picked up tank, reg, and valves for $125!
seajays
Also check the BuySell.com under welding. It comes online on Mondays for free.
