Here at my house we doa lot of burning and like all people we have alot of cd's left over from bad burns or whatever. Well i was thinking those things reflect alot of light. So i will screw them over my tank so the light reflects. Runninf 2 55 watt PC and they dont get very hot so the Cd's wont melt. What is your opinion here.

Call me nuts, but this seems like a waste of time to me, if you hunt around thekrib.com you'll find a comparison of various reflectors. Wrinkle free mylar and gloss white paint are the best 2 of the possible DIY methods.

Using CDs seems like it would be rather difficult, after all they don't bend very easily, they have a big hole in the middle. And they're not as heatproof as you think (I've got a Logitech CD right here I left on my 10g hood, it's got a nice warp in it now).

Using whats on hand isn't always the best method, in this case you're much better off going with something else.
