Well they havent killed any corys or platys yet. I've seen eggs too and still no deaths.

I'm wondering if a school of tiger barbs would be compatible with a group of 9 honduran red points. The larger males have longer fins but would they be aggressive enough not to get harassed? Thanks

With that lighting it would be a low light tank. Most plants used in low lights dont even use a substrate, like hornwart, anubias, mosses and java fern. Imo with a low tech tank an expensive substrate isnt neccisary. Im using 100% hd sand but the tank is rather new, i'll let you know how it goes.

I won some plants, hornwart, hygro polysperma, wisteria and some trumpet snails.

For a plywood tank i like the idea of using a pond liner instead of epoxy.
