cichlidkid Posted March 4, 2006 Report Share Posted March 4, 2006 I just got two 5 ft tanks from big als for $100 and they have a strip of black plastic siliconed to the top front. any ideas on how I could get it off withought damaging the glass? could I blast the inside of the tank with a bblowtoarch and melt the silicon? the problem is it is right next to the plastic. Kevin Posted March 4, 2006 Report Share Posted March 4, 2006 Keegan, Mine came off when I was moving it. It is just for decoration and is not attached to the frame. Just pull it off and then use a razor blace to remove the silicone. Do not use a blow torch on it - this has any one of a number of possible disasters associated with it.
