rudy
I had a 250 watt Hamilton Mogul Pendant on my 30 gallon cube. I had it up there for about 10 minutes until I decided I could not stand my Dining room lit up like it was a grow op. First of all does this bug anyone else? Is there anything I can do about it such as some sort of a canopy? Alternatively could I get a 150 watt bulb for this unit and put the light lower than 12 inches? dunl
Yeah, mine bothered me, but I just enclosed the light off as much as possible to go into the tank, and not the room. A little easier with a 54g bowfront than a 30g cube, I bet.
rudy
Enclosed how Darcy? Would that not cause heat issues?
fatpuffer
LOL...I used aluminum foil to "enclose" the whole pendant...it reduced it but 90 per cent...most of the light went in the tank...not in my living room. Js
dunl
Yup, foil. I tried to keep it from wrinkling so it wouldn't be so apparent.
BlkWolfe
Foil and a fan or make a "cage" out of pvc pipe to sit on top of the tank and line it with corrugated plastic. Definatly need a fan for that though
rudy
O.k. I broke down and hung the bastard again. With Dennis having a nice old carpet Anemone today I had to. I need plans for a canopy. This is in my dining room so it has to be half decent. Anybody? I also need a fan I guess. My wife hates it by the way so quick help would be appreciated Edited April 8, 2006 by rudy
