Molino
Here's a picture of the little guy. I'll admit it's a bad picture, but he hardly sticks his head out of the LR and the tank lights were off so focusing properly was a little difficult. Hopefully as he grows he'll become bolder and will spend some time out in the open. Is this pic good enough to get an ID? rudy
Try to get a shot of the meral spots on his front legs. What color are they?
Molino
Are the meral spots on the "raptorial appendage"? Diagram below. If yes he's got very dark blue spots. diagram courtesy of: http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/aquarius/evolution.html I'll try to get a shot of them later, but he rarely comes out of his lair far enough, and it seems he has taken to resting while I am home and being active in the early/mid morning while I am usually at work :eh: Edited June 25, 2006 by Molino
rudy
Dark blue like purple...check out N. smithii. You got a good score. I have three and they are amazing and hard to come by. One of the most personable mantis and stay small.
Molino
Yah, it looks like it could be a smithii. I found an awful picture I took a few weeks ago, but it shows the spots on the inside of his arms/appendages...
