jvision Posted June 11, 2006 Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 Common plecos are VERY HARD to sex. I'd go with the typical, females are usually plumper when full of eggs. Many male plecos get bristles on their pectoral fins, tho I've never seen it on Commom plecs. They must be sexable, tho, as I believe most that we see in the hobby are bred on farms.
