  1. you should have reached in there and poked it and grabbed it to turn it around
  2. unreal- is there a price tag on him?
  3. What- you don't think Tim would do that? and then flip it a month down the road
  4. why hasn't (mr mantis) Tim gone up there and snagged this one?
  5. only a few weeks? like its gonna kick the bucket on you?! what the hell- why bother. Just when you get attached it kicks it.... seems odd to me. cool looking thing though- how big is it?
  6. how did it die? what happend? sounds a little odd that it was live now its dead.
  7. was this a joke? if not, sorry for suggesting it was. go down to a LFS and check things out. go to www.jlaquatics.com and check out their prices- probably best you will find. i have dealt with these guys with good results www.reefperfection.com. Do some reading, buy a few books- well worth the money.
  8. baserock would be "non live" rock that you can use as a foundation for your LR. There are many types rock that you could call baserock out there. Caribsea sells dry rock called reef rock, reef bones (which look very nice), which i think is basically dried up live rock and coral skeletons IIRC. Ceck j&ls website for what they carry. Alot of people choose to go the even cheaper route with using tufa rock as base rock which can be found dirt cheap at landscaping shops around town. There is an argument going around with minerals in the tufa rock and that they are algae magnets- but many people swear by it as base rock as well. i hope this makes sense- and i hope memory serves me well and that im not blowing smoke up your a$$
  9. well then- unfortunately for you, most of the marine fish you see are wild caught. the species that tend to breed well in captivity are far and few between.
  10. pro's- -the stuff you can stuff in there is alot more interesting than a FW setup -10 gallon is going to be relatively inexpensive compared to larger SW tanks Cons- -in a tank that small, your water parameters can hit the crapper really quick turning your tank into an expensive lesson learned - its not a cheap hobby, tank, equipment and rock will run you more than you think (at least i have found that as a rule of thumb for SW) just make sure you put suitable fish in there and keep a diligent water change schedual heres a big Con- its gonna want to make you dump a couple K into a much larger reef tank.
  11. the first picture i was thinking... can you say ikea lamp? Those tanks are sweet- what are your plans for livestock?

  14. thats pretty cool Tim. i knew you wouldnt let this one slide. i should have bought him after you left, and then flipped it back to you for an additional $20 (knowing you were coming back for it)HA like everyone else, would like to see the pics and vids. Its pays to ditch work at opening time after a big shipment
  15. welcome- now what happens after you have been living here for a year or so and still use this board- then your going to have to go through the painstaken process of getting your username changed to not so new to alberta- anyway- welcome aboard the board. isnt medicdude looking for a good F/T employee for his shop?
