Kevin
Hi all, I am about to build my stand for a 5 foot 110 gallon. Does anyone have a good plan or specs that I can use as a starting point? I am using 5/8ths plywood on two by fours, would you reccomend 3 vertical supports or 4? Kevin
Vapor
I would go with four, but I tend to overbuild everything. Reason being, that loud crack and splash you don't want to here in the middle of the night.
lax_champ
I'd go for 4 supports

Jason and Sandra
just a suggestion......just built one for a 105 g......frame the front and back as you would a wall...double the ends and middle if you want doors other wise 16" centers are plenty. frame the ends as tiny walls and srew it all together.....that way ends are now trippled and will offer plenty of support. it is also simple to panel or cover with 1/4 inch ply wood....and presto ...couple doors and its done....hope this helps....i am a carpenter....good luck.
Kevin
Thank you for the feedback. Other project keep getting in the way, but one of these weeks I will complete it. Did you lay the top and bottom 2 by 4s horizontally along the top of you vertical supports then? Kevin

AllGo'n'Show
In the middle fo building a 72gal stand the way we used to build shevles. I'd use 4 uprights for a 110 gal, alot of wiehgt there don't want ot risk it on 3. If interested I can take some pics of ours while we work through it today and if I don't then I will take a video of us nce its done, 4 of us jumping on it will be able to hold it up no problem
