starting a fluval?, mabe should setup harware sect
Nandopsis replied to vantgE's topic in Do-it-yourself
The eaziest way to start a empty canister, is to put the suction tube in the water and then suck on the outlet pipe below the water line in the tank. Creating a siphon. The cannister will fill completly, then plug it in and gently tip the canister back and forth to get any trapped air out of it. -

Wow. You have some beautiful fish. How big is your Dovii?
-
They are perdy cool. Nothing compared to a Umbee or a Dovii though. When i feed then live food the fish doesn't even get it's whole body submerged before the Jags have them in their mouth. :P

Help promote this site to other Albertians who are interested in fish and aquaria. What can you do to help?
-
I just picked up 4-2"silver dollars as a upperstrata fish in my 165g. It's cool to see them shoaling togather.

I currently just got rid of my africans to make room for my Jags, But i used to have A trio of Ink fin calvus, many breeding pairs of brachardi, and julidochromis marleri. What do you have?
-
Currently i only have a pair of 5" Nandopsis managuense (Jaguar cichlids) and a 2" Flowerhorn in a 165g. That little Flowerhorn is vicious. He can take on the jags one on one no problem.
