  1. I've had 4 cory cats disappear and one beautiful apisto and a otto. No bodies nothing. I think it was the catfish. I usually do head counts of all my fish so when they disappear only at night, then i figure its them as they are the only night fish i have. But mine are massive and still growing and mine have huge mouths and i can easily see them sucking up my cory cats and other fish
  2. Mine love pellets more then anything, but they keep the water clean. i never see them unless i put nls pellets in front of their castle. I guess it depends on yours
  3. the clicking noises is the talking they all do.
  4. i like the spotted better, but they are all awesome, i own 2 spotted ones, and they huge and personable. Only hear them talk when they are out of water. but i love having them.
  5. I usually just shove my fingers in them and see how they feel. I have been going to michaels randomly and picking out the much larger shells. My favorite would have to be the larger round white ones with brown lines. like this it seems to be a favorite for all of my shell dwellers over any others. And the larger you get the more room they have just in case for any mishaps that may happen.
  6. Beautiful fish. I think they will look good in that tank. Please post pictures when you get them in there.
  7. I like the sand. What kind of shellies are you planning on putting in it?
  8. yup, i know. You just need to have a a lot of patients and sit there for a while just getting whatever you get. i went through so many crappy crappy pictures before i got one good one, It took me a while to figure out how to best capture my little ones. Plus they were eating off the parents and i bribed them with food. lol
  9. so cute , thanks for sharing again.
  10. i love babies. Its always the most exciting when you try so hard and so long and finally achieve what you've been trying. Unlike some fish where all you seem to do is add water and there you go. Congrats and keep up the pictures,i love watching different fish babies grow.
  11. We were out and we got some egg crate. We had decided to do it somewhat that way. But i like the screen idea. Thanks Jay and Nick for all the help. Now for the silicone part. Do you think an air pump will be good enough if we turn off the sump and lower the water for 24-48 hours while it dries. And would we need to stick one in the sump to keep that water good too? Thanks Jen
  12. well where are all the pictures?
  13. probably. just trying to get all ideas. If the fish did happen to make it over the screen tho, wouldn't it just dry up and die cause it landed on top of the screen. If you did just get a screen or something he might still get on top cause the water level would almost be the same as the screen. There is about 1 inch plus a tad bit of room the fish is getting through. I was hoping to get something that big on top that didn't restrict water flow.
  14. Anyways every time the lights go out the fish find a way in there , and every morning i have to take him out. I don't think he should be living there. lol Also don't think the stress of being chased and catched is any better for him. but it's becoming annoying more then anything. Just wondering what others have done to stop this? or any other ideas Jen
  15. i had a good laugh. thanks. Does he do that often, or did you just happen to catch it and take pictures?
  16. I don't think a 10 inch pleco would be happy in a 30 or 20 gallon tank anyways. Maybe its for the better.
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com/ERLENMEYER-FLASK-SET-1...1QQcmdZViewItem http://search.ebay.com/Erlenmeyer-flask_W0...1QQcmdZViewItem
  18. Same happened when i purchased all of mine. You will be able to get the legs for like 10-15 dollars (cant remember)
  19. I figured if they took the aquarium ad, they would take them all cause its under the same email address or how ever they track them. Or at least go through it and see which are appropriate or not. Just like most other sites would remove that person and anything associated with that person. Or a least they should.
  20. they must not have done a very good job because she is still on there. http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-pets-birds-for...QQAdIdZ17045222 plus asking for a computer. lol cause they only have one luxury and that is the internet. Also giving away a washer/dryer combo, but if your not allowed to ask the brand name or model because you dont really need it, They just got a NEW set. so they don't need them no more
  21. You could also try going into your paint program on your computer. Put the image on there. Go to <Image> then<stretch skew> under the list Then inlarge the stretch number from 100 to whatever size you want it to be. It will cut off some of the picture naturally. but play around until it works. I use this method to shrink pictures Also if you go to <Image> then <attributes> then you can play around with adding large numbers of mega pixels and or Inches to overall get a better result. I to would also save the edited image differently then the original. Good luck and i hope i at least helped somewhat lol.
  22. have you tried uploading through a photo hosting site? www.photobucket.com try that. i have never had a problem doing it that way, but my pictures are always way to large to do anything with. What kind of camera and setting, i do know have some have different sizes to take the picture for ( email, 3mm, 5mm) If you do have those settings you might want to make sure it is on a larger one. It may not direct upload on the site but at least it might be normal size. i will see what else i can figure out about enlarging pictures.
  23. i used first bites and bbs. flakes should be fine. but like kevin said, i noticed mine will just eat algea. I decided to not raise any more babies at this time until i get rid of some heehee so i don't feed anything but the parents, and the babies in the tank thrive just as much eating leftovers and algea
  24. They will eat them if you leave them, You have a few days to a week or so.. But it would be easier to remove the babies now if you decide to. I had a B**** of a time moving the babies after free swimming stage. By the way congrats and you wont have any trouble raising them. lol How many would you say there are?
