  1. Pm me with a link to the post and what you want it changed to. I will change it for you.
  2. I use an internal Fluval 3 plus on my fire belly toad tank. It never gives me issues.
  3. I have mine in a 30 gallon with half land and half water about 6" deep.
  4. You will also most likely find your ghost shrimp disappear with the clown loaches.
  5. looks great! Are you using regular magnets or rare earth magnets? Rare earth magnets are infinitely stronger than regular magnets.
  6. I changed some settings for you, try posting now. Pm me if it does not work.
  7. That is why I also use two 55 gallon sponges and a magnum HOTfilter.
  8. They are indeed beautiful and graceful. So when do we get to see yours?
  9. I sugest an xp3 to go with your xp2 as a good start. I have had good service from my Rena canister filters and absolutely no issues with them.
  10. For a discus tank you are overstocked with other fish and under-filtered all together. If you want to succeed with your discus you will need to get rid of half of your angels, all of the danios, and the rainbow fish. Also increase your filteration by about 4 fold. My discus tank is a 66 gallon with 6 discus 2 albino bristle nose and some cardinals. I run an Xp3, a Magnum H.O.T. 250, and 2 55 gallon sponges. I do a 30% water change every 2 or 3 days and they are doing great. Also feed several times a day.
  11. This post has gone way off track. I have deleted the argument. Also if I said I bought something from Walmart or Aqua giant, or anyone else for that matter it is not promoting a non sponsor it is just stating where I got it from. In the future if a similar problem arises please pm a mod or admin and we will deal with it. In the mean time everyone should be able post a picture of their fish with out an argument about the source. If you would like to further discuss this please do it through pm.
  12. Actually I find that it is not really an issue, If I think a tank is running cold then I bump the temp and hold the heater to see if it is working. The stealths are likely the best internal tank heaters if you have an overly active large fish.
  13. I have to agree with snaggle. Out of all the fish you are keeping the discus are the least competitive. The smallest gets the least food and weakens. Also a lot of the fish you are keeping are not suitable tankmates either temperature wise or activeness. What temp. is your tank? How many of each type of fish do you have with them?
  14. A common error that is made when people estimate at 10 pounds per gallon. This true for imperial gallons but aquariums are rated with US gallons which weigh 8.36 lbs. Also most tanks are rated on outside dimensions, where as the inside dimensions can take away a lot of volume. So to calculate this you would have to figure out the weight of tank, the stand, substrate and ornaments. Then the actual volume of water after displacement by rocks and substrate. It is highly unlikely that you would reach 2000 pounds.
  15. Have you tried here? http://albertaaquatica.com/index.php?showforum=75
  16. I'm old fashioned that way. I still use the bucket method.
  17. 9 of the 20s have fish and 1 has my newts. The 6 pack and the 4 large tanks all have fish as well.
  18. White sand may make them pale in color. Also I would only use sand in a discus tank if they were full grown as you don't have to feed them as often and there is less waste to clean up. Also I have rams horn snails in their tank to clean up excess food.
  19. Here's where it's at I had all of these tanks running with fish in them but shut down a lot of them due to lack of time.: 6 pack rack with a 20 long, 3 25s, a 30, and a 37. 75 and 95 gallon geo tanks 66 gallon discus, 83 gallon Rip's home, and some empty 10 gallon tanks on top. My big rack with 12 20 gallon tanks on bottom 2 racks some 10s on top and the 20 I use for conditioning the water for my discus.
