Hi, I have been a guest on this site for a few years now. I just finally signed in this January. My username (kona) is our pet dog, a boxer. I am from Lloydminster, we have 7 tanks running totaling 190+gallons.I have been to 3 of the auctions in the last few years, I find it interesting to go and see what others are raising and selling and also to buy a few to bring home. I find this forum very helpful in learning and answering questions that may arise.
  17. I have a 7" redbelly in a 33 gallon. He has a 4" convict for a tankmate. He has survivrd many vicious attacks but since then he has healed well and knows his limits and knows where to hide. The tank is very full with live and plastic plants and ornaments this gives him lots of area to hide. But I do agree with other posts, that he may one day become a victum.
  18. So it has been a week since I brought home cherry shrimp from the auction. I put them into a ten gallon tank that has a few floating plants, numerous ramshorn snails, couple of dwarf pleco's, 1 dwarf cory(sole survivor of5) few baby guppies and the Hara Hara catfish (came from the auction). Haven't seen the shrimp all week! So I removed a bunch of dead snail shells, removed some flat rock and some small ornaments and there we go, now I can see shrimp. Now that I know that they have survived can you tell me what the ideal tank situation for them is? They are in a 10 gallon with no subsrate and running a large sponge filter(the type like was at the last auction, I call them a Regina filter since that is the supplier's username from where I had purhased them online) I am unsure about putting them into a tank with gravel, for fear of forgetting about them and sucking them up during water changes.. Any ideas/suggestions?
