  1. I have some stuff that is called CLEAN-IT, made by Aquatronics. Haven't tried it yet. It was given to me and I was told it works good.
  2. True True... Dying fish is always tough to figure out when it is someone else having the problems. and on top of that they are clown loaches which can be even harder to figure out, being suseptable to alot of things. GL Lana hope you figure it out. Keep up on your tests and maybe try a touch of salt to help.
  3. You can read more here; http://www.calgary.ca/portal/server.pt/gat...Quality+FAQ.htm I understand that but apparently they have been experimenting with Bleach at the moment. I think it has something to do with part of the plant closed down for repairs. Not sure exactly just what I heard.
  4. OK keep us informed on your levels. Also...how are you curing water for your changes, I have heard through the grape vine that the city is using Bleach inthe water right now. I could tell when I was filling up the 90. strong bleach smell, since then I have been letting ALL water sit for 24 hours with a powerhead before putting it into a tank. sucks but I think the fish are happy that I do that
  5. Great colours on the starfish. Urchin would be a cool one to have in a tank
  6. I'm curious of the Nitrite/Nitrate levels. with it being ten days old or so its levels may be high as it is going between cycling stages. Doing that right now myself.
  7. For the boxing week Golds has Live Rock on for $4.99/lb Dennis asked me to post this for you guys. Also buy one salt creature get another for 50% off
  8. Oh what a cute little guy. Would love to have one, one day
  9. Alright the Hood is on and the Sand is in. One piece of live rock in the tank and one in the Sump. Here are a couple more pics. Light to go into the hood over the next couple days. and another Darn children, green marker!! looks like it will be painted black (eventually)
  10. If you get a handle then it is only a few screws to separate the lid in half and then the handle will fall out and just put the other one in and put it back together. It is that easy. UNLESS you have the same problem that I do and the clips that hold the handles in are broken. Then I think you will have to contact Fluval to get the lid replaced. GL
  11. Well maybe it is just fat then! the articles also say 7" in size is when they hit sexual maturity and it is hard to say but I dont think the 2 largest are quite that big. MAYBE 6" tho
  12. Kind of hoping for the quick...here is what I know. Looking after 3 kids right now and dont have time to read a full article. going back and forth to pc and leaning at the moment and thought I would post. I will read the articles tonight after hockey tho
  13. I understand that these guys do not breed in captivity but I have 3 new ones in with my clan and the clan is now at 10. Since I added the new ones I have one (older) that has gotten REALLY fat!!. Thats the only one looking like that, all the others look normal/healthy Does anyone know how they breed? Live/eggs? Cave/open? Rock/sand I figure they are not breeding but More curious than anything
  14. My suggestion is Geophagus steindachneri "Red Hump Eartheater" very cool looking fish and only reach ~6" So your 50 would work Unless you are trading a tank for a divorce....That might be worth it too!
  15. If this soap kills bacteria and we are covered with bacteria, wouldn't it just be worse for us in the long run to kill everything that our bodies have become accustomed to over the centuries anyways?? I dont use it for that thought but never thought of what it could do to a aquarium I usually just was well with hot water and after I am done tank stuff then I use soap to get off what the fish water put on My 2ยข
  16. I may have a few but I really prefer Mushrooms, and LPS. I am going this way because I read about people using a baster to clean under rocks and I am hoping to direct flow under so I dont have to baste. I am also hoping to not have to add a powerhead. with the way it is flowing I dont believe I am going to.
  17. Those are good prices, I like the fact I can choose from Golds. That and it is very nice stuff, It was hard to choose what pieces to grab
  18. All right! I have plumbed in two 2" drains that go into a wye joint and drop into one side of a 33G sump, I am using a Coralife Skimmer in the sump, with an Ocean Runner 6500 running through a 1" hose that divides into 3/4" through a Tee and returns through 4, 1/2" Loc-Line...only thing that bothers me is the Orange in the returns. I decided to go with Tek Light, HO T4 lights. (4 bulb system) But here it is getting filled up. and here is a side shot of the overflow running in "leak test" mode
  19. I was in Golds today and they have some FANTASTIC live rock in now 7.99/lb Just thought I'd share

  21. Ok so the plumbing has reached its end (for the time being) looking for one more part and away I go. I need a 2" barbed wye fitting for the overflow!!!! I found a tee and that will have to work for now. I will post a pick of it when I get water into it for leak test (tonight oh please Dog let it be tonight) and post them. Also got my light and need to hang it in the hood so I can put the hood in place and show that off too.
  22. Bubble Algae! My Emerald crabs cleared mine up. Some have said they dont work but they have for me.
  23. If you can get a picture of it that would greatly help in Identification
  24. Not sure what caused it but are you sure it isn't affecting the oscar? It may just be starting to affect it. Or it was just taking a beating from the oscar and Pleco
