Hi Harrod...from the first picture...the fish looks like it has the shape of C. borlyi and the color pattern of the red empress...but the second picture looks like a full red empress!!! I think maybe send a PM to "African_fever" ...he would be the best bet at id-ing the bad boy!!!!

How many Crimson Tide's do you have in the tank??? If you only have the one, I would suggest adding a few more, that way his focus will be more on breeding rather then picking fights!!! Some females may distract him. OR if he continues to be a terror, I would suggest trading him into a LSF for something else!!!!

multies are great tank mates I will also be throughing some Calvus in with my cyps soon. Julies..... really anything that uses the bottom of the tank and that does not get too big or too territorial. What were you thinking???

There are still several dyed varieties of fish available for sale in Calgary. And you don't even need black lights for them be look bright. Painted skirts and "Lazer" cory cats come to mind!!!

FYI: Gold's in calgary has a whole tank full of wild caught phenocilus in just yesterday !!!!!!!

if you don't use a primer/sealer first, the stain will bleed through the paint, doesn't matter whether you use indoor or outdoor paint.... it's the sealer that you need the most!!!!! You can have the sealer tinted though!!!!!!! They do sell them in smaller cans at home depot

OR use "KILZ" as the primer sealer!!!

I have painted over stain before. I would think all you need to do a a light sanding, then use a good primer dealer and then paint away!!!
