  16. The rock seams to be coming along just fine [What do you think Dacy] My problem is I can't get the nitrites down, they are less than what they were, but still not ready for any livestock yet. I will check again next week. Taking a water sample down to Golds just to double check. Then it;s a clean up crew. I wanted a mantis real bad but my wife has taken this over and she wants small pretty colored fish, she now tells me it is her tank so butt out buddy, so my mantis will have to wait. Tom
  17. Well after much discussion with my wife I have placed an order for a 90 gal drilled tank from Golds and I am going to venture into the salty side. I plan on using a standard 33 gal for sump. So as this project gets underway I will be looking for lot's of help and guidance from all you guys. Tank should be ready in two to three weeks. So get the tank plumb in the sump order live rock start curring, hunt down some lighting start reading more reading and hope to have success in a completely new area for me. Thanks to Josh and Connie for the help and info they have given so far. Tom

  19. Fantastic looking setup, and yes I see what you mean about the Taiwan Reef. Once again Rob comes through with another in a long list of beautiful stands. Tom.
  20. Most defiantly with you on that one Sean. Tom.
  21. It had several trays with sponge, I removed them and am just ruining the filter without anything just to add more aeration I was under the impression by what I had read so far that I would not require a filter the rock would act as the bio filter. Do you think I should have a common type filter ruining. Thanks Connie. Tom.
  22. Thanks Guy's ya I know about diatom outbreak that sometimes happens in new setups I have just never experienced brown algae in any of my setups before. I was hoping there may be miracle quick cure that I didn't know about I guess I will have to put up with the unsightly mess until it clears itself up. Thanks for all the help guy's appreciated. Tom.
  23. OK so I have given a small nano a try I have just put it together and curing the live rock. I believe it is a 12 gal I think I will have to thin out the rock once it has cured. I have a seio 620 pump the tank has a small filter in the back[see pic] small twin tube lighting [see pic] 50 wt e.j. heater. I used Red Reef Crystals Reef Salt sg reads 1.021 I have taken no water readings yet too soon I think. So after checking the pictures, could you please tell me if I have missed anything in the initial setup, and also what should I be looking for in the next few weeks. Thanks guy's first time in salt of any type. Tom
