  1. I had thought of doing it that way. If I could pick up a long plastic container that could hold water I could stick a couple of A.C 500's on it would only be one day. Now were to find a container. Thanks for the advice man, I appreciate it. Tom

    HELLO ALL!

:welcome: to Alberta Aquatica lot's of info and a great bunch of people, so post away. Tom.
  3. Ok I am hoping someone has had this problem and can give me some ideas as to how I can work this out. My carpet in the living room needs to be replaced only problem is that is were I have a 187 gal and 90 gal and 45 gal. How the heck do I move these tanks I only have a couple of 33's empty. I had heard that there are companies out there that will come in with plastic holding containers and remove the fish and move the tanks, then put it all back after the job, I haven't been able to locate one in Calgary yet, or even if this is a possibility. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Please help me make my wife happy, all you married guy's with more than one tank know what I am talking about, right Darcy. We have to keep the little woman happy. Thanks Tom.
  4. Congrats Darcy Post some pic if you can. Tom.
  5. And all along I thought she was a sex therapist Once again just fantastic information for us to take advantage of. Thanks. Neil. Tom.
  6. No I understand Neil I know you are just pointing out something that you recognized and I appreciate any impute I can get, I know these are a line breed and 3 of them including the one you pointed out I can't trace were the line originated. If something was funky with these guy's I would like to know so when I move them either through sale or exchange to introduce a new blood line that who ever I trade with is receiving what they and I expect that being a true fish and not turning out to be a hybrid mix. So quite naturaly I would not move and would kull if that was the case. So if anyone else thinks there may be something wrong with these fryeri [Kyle] please let me know I would be greatful. Thanks Neil Tom.
  7. F.Y.I. This group is now sold to yours truly Tom.
  8. Thanks Neil, these guys are 4" to 5" very passive fish don't have the dominate trait of the male I lost, but I think one will step up to the plate once they start to mate again. It does a little, the protomelas snout is more flat and has a more predominat lower jaw, and of course my fish doesn't have the vibrant egg spots that the Protomelas has Tom.
  9. I may have lost my dom male fryeri, but it seems to have colored up my remaining 7 males here are a few shots. Let me know what you guy's think. Tom.
  10. Awsome fish Awsome pictures. Tom.
  11. Dido worked just fine for me too. Tom.
  12. Just another great reason to over filter tanks you have running. Good post. Tom.
  13. Back in Sept I bought 15 Cyps Utinta from Chums, at the time all were in the 1/2" range. Now some three months later most have grown into the 2" range but four have not grown that much at all maybe around 3/4" they are all healthy, eagerly wolfing down the N.L.S. small fish formula. So my question is, is this normal, out of the 15 to have four runt's. The four fish in question are normal looking, just small. Thanks guy's Tom.
  14. Sorry to hear that I know exacally how you feel buddy, But the way I see it any purchace from that type of store is a rescue and you tried so congrats for that. Tom.
  15. Congrats, do you know if they are black or white. I picked up 3 black ink and 4 white at the last Edmonton auction, I love these guy's very interesting fish to watch. I also have mine growing out with my yellow labs and my cyps I plan on moving them into a tang 90 soon. Tom.
  16. One of my Cyprichromis Utinta. These guy's are so much fun to watch I have 15, they school at the top of the tank together. It's as close to synchronized swimming in the fish world. Tom

    Devastated

Thank you to all. I will really miss this guy he was a very special fish, major attitude, would not be pushed around, a real personality. Now I am just pissed off I know I am not the only one, but I work really hard to make sure the tanks are well looked after, I spend a small fortune on equipment to try to ensure my fish get the best care I can give them. I feed them the best food on the market today[N.L.S.] So when this happens it pisses me off. Well hey it's just a fish right. That is the problem everything is as always no viable reason at all. Once again guy's thanks for your concern. Tom
