  1. hey you wouldnt happen to have that 230 gallon still would you?

  2. theres tons of places for them to go. theres caves everywhere and they can go behind the rock. its not all completely rock, we used slate to make caves and make serate areas for them to go behind them. and they rock isnt nice cause its...dirty? the plecos are in the process of cleaning them. and its not like im gonna keep it like this forever. the biggest fish in the tank is 6 inches and the smallest is like 2. theres plenty of space for all of them. once they grow, im gonna change it up to accomodate the fish.
  3. Me and Quinn decided it was time to redo my tank since it was, to say the least, quite boring. So we went to the river and picked up as many rocks as we could. (filled five, five gallon buckets.) We redecorated it in 2 stages. Once last night and the rest today. The tank is a 125 gallon. It consists of 2 Argenteas, Red Tiger Motaguense, Red Terror, Regani, Red Texas, Fire Eel, Marbled Sailfin Pleco and a Royal Pleco. Heres what the tank looked like before Stage 1 of the overhaul. Stage 2--Completed tank.
  4. a true parrot cichlid? or a blood parrot hybrid?

  6. Does anyone have red mangrove pods they are willing to part with? im looking for a few of them to put in my saltwater tank to remove extra "unwanted" nutrients.
  7. cuc... is that cucumber? cucumbers are filter feeders....they wont eat a shrimp...even though sexy shrimp are small

    :(

yea i decided against the hatiensis, quinn is getting a couple for his 130 so im gonna see how his work out and when i get another 130 ill think about getting a couple hatians. And wouldn't it leave physical signs? Slimy skin, etc? Are you sure your cycle didn't crash? DId you test the water? the slime coat was actually completely gone. the only fish that still had a slime coat was my eel and rex texas, all the others were completely dry. the tank has been running since december, and i used all the water from my 77 gallon and added new water to the rest, so it wasnt the cycle crashing. my water has been perfect, ive never had a problem with losing fish like this with my freshwater tanks. everything was fine one night, then all of a sudden they had clampy fins and were at the top of the tank gasping for air.. i took the day off skool and went to buy medicine..by the time i got home the worst had already happened. my tank is doing good now, everything is eating very aggressively, breathing fine, no clampy fins...water is still kinda cloudy but thats because its basically a new tank. in a couple weeks after everything is done running and ive got a good bacteria colony(quinn is going to give me some of his foam from his filters to help boost mine, and im also dumping stability in my tank everyday.) I will then order my argentea, umbee and motag and that is what my tank will consist of. once they start to grow i will set up another 130 gallon.
  10. theres only certain types of bristleworms that will actually eat corals and fish.. i cant remember the name though, some kind of segmented worm. pink bristleworms are beneficial, they eat leftover food, mix sand...etc.. the only think bad about pink bristleworms are the nasty sting they give you haha. ive had 20 inch bristleworms in the past, they were my babies haha. i think i have 1 left

    :(

So my tank got a bacterial infection and killed off everything except 1 fish....a red texas... everything else is gone  Lost: 14in male Midas(5 1/2 years old), 9 inch female White Midas, Red Terror X Texas male and female, 8 inch male Zonatum, 4 inch Female Dovii, 3 inch male Red Tiger Motaguense, 1 inch Umbriferum, 20 inch Black Spotted eel My midas was my biggest, oldest prized fish I bleached ALL ornaments and filters, boiled my gravel, all new filter media, filled the tank with boiling water and ran nox ich through the tank to kill anything left over. ive now got my only fish that lived, a 2 inch red texas cichlid, in the tank with 9 baby dovii's. everything seems to be running smoothly so far. in the next couple of weeks im stocking the tank with an umbee, argentea, red tiger motag, and haitiensis with the red texas and i will end up keeping 1 dovii.

    Hello

make sure its structurally sound. always a good idea to insure your tanks as well
  19. copopods are like the size of a pinhead.. amphlipods are the ones that look like shrimp cleaner shrimp babies and any other saltwater fish babies (excluding inverts that split) need massive amounts of phyto plankton but its quite likely they wont live. my friend hadnt put anything new in his tank for over 1 year, no corals and no liverock or fish and one day there were hundreds of jellyfish in his tank He dumped bottles of phyto in the tank because thats all they eat in the wild and they still died. so i would doubt something like a shrimp would live
  20. its a type of mushroom i have them in my tank to, they look like anenomes so i was looking through anenome books. then i was looking at a coral book one day and it was in with the mushrooms, its sme sort of morph but i cant remember the name...
