when i was breeding those blue snakeskins i found it took alot of trys before they started to hatch. and even then the challenge was even harder. gl nick.

Have a bunch of plants. the red one in the other topic i have posted. Java fern on driftwood, Anubius on driftwood. and a ton of val. How do i properly thin these? Also do i remove dead parts but cutting them or leaving them? where do i cut? what do i cut.? there are tiny buds and new pieces that want to grow i would just love to get the things looking back to quality plants instead of the plants looing like they were playing at Robert Picktons Farm. ( sorry new saying ) Any help would be greatly appreciated. TY in advance.

Still new to the live plants. I usually just buy them let them get eaten then replace. But i actually would like to keep some now. Now the question would be can i take part of a plant that has grown new pieces and cut it just below its wierd rooting system, about 3/4 the way up and plant it again and then have 2 plants? If not why? and if so how ? lol The pic below is of the plant i would like to somehow save. Nasty snails got to it. but if you look closely you can see roots every 1/4 way up it. Ty in advance.

Hey just posting some pics of my 3 tanks at the moment. the fry are a grow out project form some Hunters i have received from Patrick. Growing quick and on blood worms once in a while on top of some first bites. The community tank aka anything goes lol. its a 38 Gal. has neons, corys angels ghost shrimp, guppies and some others. Second is my 15 Gal Hunter Fry tank. They are about 2 weeks +- old right now. If you look closly you can see them eating some blood worms. looks like they are snorkeling.

ill just leave them in there so the hunters have a good snack. lol

hey sorry about some confusion, i was typing that on my phone last night. as for the trash talk i didnt mean it that way Boom. i meant if anyone wanted to call me down or whatever to keep it off here and on a PM sorry for the miscommunication. I know who you are Boom and your a good guy. Ive been on the race track with you and talked to you at Tim Hortons a few times. You know who i am. Im the guy that Raced for Alberta Cycle and i ride the Pink GSXR on the street. I thought about keepin the Hybrids, thats why i posted it on here first. But I will flush them because i know Vic's are hard to come by, and Patrick has done an Excellent job. Thats the only reason i asked. As for my others i have only kept the fry of the ones i know and sat there and watched breed. for some reason they only do it when i sit in front of the tank. I know you shouldnt keep them together, but i am strapped for cash and i am trying to deal with what i have. But i do understand some peoples concerns. And out of respect for Patrick, and the rest of you i will be deffinately flushing. I will be selling the ones that i know are only breeding amongst themselves. Thanks you for everyones input i really do appreciate it.

Thank you Boom, But if have have an opinion be it good or bad I would like to hear it please. If your going to trash talk please pm me. I can understand what you mean with some of these. But I did some reading, and that's the only way this fish has survived, is by hybridnization. I do understand about the purity if your fish my fish and everyone elses. But I am not afraid of change, and what if I did keep these for my self in a different tank all alone. As for seperaring the species I would love to. But money is a little tight now because Someone decided to run off with my stuff and I make crap for Money in the winter. Anyways everyone please feel free to give me you negative and positive comments on "Hybrids". Just remember to keep of clean.

So I have a tank with a mix of different vics I purchased from Patrick. He warned me. LOL. I sat there and watched as my flameback ignores his 5 fat ladies and he bred with one of my orange piebalds. Now what do I do. ? Has this been done before? I can't find any info. Do I make a name for this new hybrid? I change the water once a week. And when I do watch out, it's like a breeding frenzy. I've only been able to catch some hunters and drop in another tank for fry. First batch from the smallest hunter about 3" is 20 fry. 18 made it and are healthy and growing fast. As for the hybrid batch I might get. Do I give the same care as regular vics? So many questions and can't find answers. Please help. Ty.

I have a bunch of ghost shrimp holding their eggs. If I want them to hatch what should I do?

now since I can't afford the cartridges over the winter and I can run on just sponges. Would I get away with filter floss in my emperors to polish the water? I saw a setup of a breeder on here with just sponges with wicked clear water. How does he do it? Just don't want to mention any names.

Just wondering the pros and cons running a sponge filter or 2 in a tank vs the HOB's. Winter is here and money is tight this year. Was planning on running 3 sponge filters in my 55 and 1 or 2 in my 38. dont have hte cash for a canister which does best. Any input with the members is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
