  1. His favorite food is Wonderbread & Cheez-Whiz. What an idiot he is.... Ashley MacIsaac
  2. Great pics and nice set-up! I miss my Africans.
  3. I decided to try the jungle meds food. I had tried it before on some african cichlids-it didn't work because they wouldn't eat it but the loaches ate it so that's a bonus. I'm not entirely sure they have the worms as they seem to be getting thicker- perhaps they were just severely underfed. At least I found a more affordable treatment. Hopefully it all works out - a quarantine tank is in the works.
  4. The stores should recommend a quarantine tank to start with, then they can make even more money! It's just sound advice. Take it or leave it.I know I'd be pissed if I added a $30 clown loach to my arowana tank and ended up losing a $2500 arowana because I was too cheap to buy a quarantine tank. One day I will get one. One day I will learn. I think its a "must have" no matter where you live. The more you get into this hobby ,and the more you invest in it, the more you have to lose, and the more important it becomes.
  5. My loaches, my 10" ray and my plecos all eat it. It stays hard in the water for a very long time if left uneaten. My smaller rays let it sit for almost a day before they'll eat it. My arowanas won't eat it. Its a very hard pellet.
  6. Very cool. You can even see the spine sticking out of his face. Good job saving him.
  7. The price is the issue. I have a 230 and a 180gal tank. At the price he charges I could buy a new stingray!
  8. Gobies et al has some as does Jayba. They don't have enough to treat my tanks so I am trying to get some elsewhere. Perhaps they have enough for you guys.
  9. I bought some fish from a guy on here and they all seemed a little thin. I did some research on a loach forum and its, likely ,skinny loach disease- ie worms. I have 2 tanks now infected and levamisol hydrochloride is supposed to be the best treatment. If anyone has a better or alternate idea I'd love to hear it. If anyone knows where I can get this stuff, even better. I have a lot of $$$ tied up in these 2 tanks and can't afford to mess around. I have a new tank coming soon and I don't want to start off on the wrong foot. I really should've quarantined these guys but I don't have unlimited space to set up quarantine tanks for all my fish. I may set up a tank in my garage after this little incident, however. Here's the link to the loach site: http://forums.loaches.com/viewtopic.php?t=16733 I really can't stress enough the importance of quarantine. I really hope someone can help me out. If you are buying fish from Iamfrontosa check them out, in their tanks ,beforehand.
  10. What are you suggesting? :hey: Start out with some P-bass or dats, maybe a school of silver dollars. Down the road upgrade to an Asian aro. The possibilities are endless. Giant gourami, black shark. Lots of different types of cichlids, specifically viejas, but they may not get along with your current stock.
  11. Nice pics. Dustin get some cooler fish for that monster tank.JK. You have some pretty cool fish but with the space you have you can keep some pretty wicked fish.
  12. Yeah, I'll get some better pics down the road. The tank the pearl x are in doesn't even have a light or a lid on it. I only set it up until they are pellet trained. Once the rays move to the bigger tank the 75 they are in will become my sump.
  13. They haven't grown much. I am trying to pellet train them. They only get worms every third day pellets in between.
  14. I just took about 25 shots and only about 6 turned out ok and none are really great .
  15. Sometimes I can get 20 good shots in a row and sometimes I take a hundred and only get one. I'll go get some more of the smaller rays right now.
  16. Thanks Wayne. My favorite is third from the last. I like how the Skynoch rays are developing. You can see the dark marbling starting to come in between the spots. They are going to look amazing.
  17. I'll post some better pics of these guys next turn around but here's what I've gotten myself into recently. From Skynoch Form Iamfrontosa
  18. Nice job Scott! Great to see pics. Keep them coming. Great job on the build.
  19. Sweet collection. With monsters like that you need to overcrowd them to cut down on the aggression.I'd also like to see the filtration system. Thanks for the post.
  20. Looks like you could use a bigger tank already! Frick those rays are huge!
  21. Nice gourami. Especially the male. I had one of these guys for a year and a half. Clown loaches would pick stuff out of his teeth. It was pretty cool. I kept him with a jardini arowana for about nine months. I came home one day and they had shredded each other. Sad day. Yours are lovely but I would keep an eye on the Africans. They will surely nip the fins on your gouramis.
