  1. Exactly what I was thinking, more fish equals less work, and... a school of 20 rummy nose tetra's would look good in there :hey: I commented on the skimmer and filter outlet as they will vent off your co2 faster than you are currently putting it in +light =s great conditions for hair algae  And yeah,...what J said :P
  2. I have a big (about the size of an FX5) Laguna 20w UV canister filter I'll let go cheap, I used it for 1 month and it's been sitting ever since...I was using it inline with an FX5. http://www.lagunaponds.com/lagunaeng/filters/pfilters1504.php?link=1533
  3. In addition to the above post,... If it was my tank, I'd... Only run the skimmer at night, Re-adjust the filter outlet so it isn't breaking the surface, Run at least 4bpm co2 during the day, Add some more fish, Increase water circulation with a power head at lower levels. Is the tank heavily planted? Any pics of the tank?
  4. Protein film? I've had it in the past and used a trickle skimmer to get rid of it (<$20)... In my 90g planted I have an air stone that turns on a night (timers, Co2 & lights turn off and the air pump turns on), the surface agitation takes care of it in that tank...
  5. I'd just give them some time, mine did that on the first couple attempts before they got it right, I had a BN in with then too and they were pretty good at chasing him off... :boxer:
  6. I don't use anything but pot scrubbers and biomax in my trays...
  7. I found I could trigger my Bolivian Rams to spawn after a day of fasting, followed by a big water change (75% in a heavily planted hi-tec 33g) and a feed on some fresh brine shrimp...but then the corydora's would waste little time mopping up the free swimmers once the lights were out Not a great pic, my Bolivian ram with fry...
  8. 5544.. http://www.blueworldaquatic.com/
  9. I'm looking at some right now, a nice setup that even has a computer controlled wave program...I'll let you know more when it shows up, hopefully next week...Or, you can swing by Blue World on Calgary trail...they have some there.
  10. I've run them with my rena filters,...I never had a problem with them.
  11. Good stuff there,...I've tried other meds in the past but the levamisol was the only thing that worked for my tank...and time is of the essence when dealing with these nasty worms....the quicker you treat the better the survival rate. Good Luck.
  12. I used to get them filled @ AllSports replay on the south side or Leduc CdnTire, there's also Paintball action games on 50st. Did you try any of these places? http://www.jacpacco2.com/refillingYourCO2
  13. Yep Now I see it (can't see these pictures at work), Tank looks great...I have one of those Milwaukee regs on another larger tank but I've found the needle valve too be a little too finicky at low BPM rates. Is your reg on in those pics, mine works best with an output pressure of 20-25 psi
  14. Sounds like a busy little tank mb3k... Do you have any pictures? To me it sounds like you might be trying to do too much, too fast...IMHO
  15. I have a bunch of dwarf hair grass (thinning it out tonight) that I think would fill in that left front corner if you want to give it a shot, I can also throw in a bunch of Trumpet Snails which love the algae,...LMK and I'll send a baggy for you with the CO2 for Tuesday...
  16. Thnx, The tank has remained pretty much the same for the last year or so, I did however remove the co2 system, slow growing works just fine for me in this little tank, =s a PITA to trim
  17. Thnx, & I bought the zoomed filter from Big Al's in Edmonton for about $50, they have them in the reptile area and list them as a turtle filter. little more on their online... http://www.bigalsonline.ca/BigAlsCA/ctl3664/cp18095/si1318112/cl0/zoomed501turtlecanisterfilter
  18. Some of the extra's I've added... LED replacement lights... Upgraded canister filter, squeezes into the filter housing... ZooMed 501 filter... heater...hydor mini submersible...hidden under the flourite.... and a super small air pump (no bigger than a stack of ten toonies) which also fits into the back of the filter housing for a clean stock look.. A picture looking into the filter housing with the canister and air pump...
  19. Here's a couple pics of my edge...Now home to twenty odd Cherry Shrimp, thanx J.
  20. I found the best way to get a picture of my O was to just leave the camera set-up on the tripod right in front of the tank as mine would always stop whatever whe was up to whenever the camera came out, but ya, they are mostly non-stop entertainment, I can't imagine not having an Oscar
  21. Mucho better,....That worked, Thanx
