  1. Raymond he is so stunning, thank you very much!!!
  2. I have never heard of that before, what does it say to treat it with?
  3. Auctions are very simple, We have an auctioneer, who is usually very entertaining. You see a fish you like at the price you like start bidding, if you are lucky no one will bid against you, if not you maybe have several people bidding against you. I was outbid on a stunning OB at the CAS auction he went for over 60.00, OMG he was so nice. But I came home with some lemon jakes at an awesome price under 10.00 for a group of three... Came home with some awesome plants etc... so it is always nice to bring lots of money... Because you seem to buy more then you intended...oh yea and you might end up with angryhusband syndrom once you get home too...haha... The day is very fun, you get to meet a lot of the members you also get to see fish you normally would not of seen. ACE/CAS auctions are highly recommended, they are good for the soul!
  4. WOW, now that is an emotional rollercoaster... Congrats on the eggs! Sorry you were not able to save the fry...
  5. Ugh, sorry for your loss! Were you able to save the fry? I hate losing fish period...
  6. You could probably add a few small fish if you like I am guessing you probably have approx. 12" of fish in your tank, guessing the red rams are only a couple inches each, angels at three inches each and the skirt and molly around one or so inch each. You could probably add a few more small fish...
  7. oH I love the colors, fantastic photo's...
  8. I use the spong that came with it, as well as a poly - purchased what should be used for a seat it is about 1" thick so I just cut the size I need and it is already the perfect shape, it works very well. Found it in Wal-mart sewing section. I don't recall the size though I think it was 5$. Then depending what I am doing if I will add carbon in a piece of nylon, wal-mart sells nylons for I think $2.82 or some stupid price, and safeway is over $3.00. Then I can put in the ceramic rings...
  9. I have a few BN and I love them, they can clean a tank in short time, which is fantastic. I would highly recommend BN.
  10. Oh poop Harold that is not good, The tanks that have not gone belly up could you buy some RO water from the store and do a big water change, I know it will be costly, but it might help... no idea... So far the rest of mine are doing okay, I added a ton of carbon to my filter too. Best of luck....
  11. OH my gosh Harold I am so sorry to hear that!!! That is just terrible news!!! I am beginning to wonder if that happened up here, as there were a lot of deaths that were classified as bazaare. I know I did a good 25% water change and 24 hours later had 19 dead fish... of those 19 3 were my F1 Kipili Front's... two were burundi, and two were my deep water haps, and the rest were dolphins... I was not happy that was my favorite tank... the only other thing I did was treat the tank with parasite clear, but it never bothered any of my fish before..... I have used on on three tanks, and that tank in early September when I first obtained the new fish and they were all fine.... this time they died... what the heck! So I was thinking either A) the water the parasite clear they were the only things I added to the tank, and because we haul our tank water from Redwater, we only do the big tank and then a couple days before do the smaller tanks... only the big tank suffered... wonder if it had to do with the bacteria growth so they added something more, I know our well water had some kind of bacteria bug, so we had to treat it with chlorine tablets.... nothing like showering in water that smells like bleach.... ugh... anyway so sorry for your loss Harold.
  12. You are lucky, I know if that would of happened at my place everything would be dead, filters, fish, plants...probably would of had the dang fire to boot... Guess you learned not to rely on the friend very much... I am glad everything turned out okay! Maybe next time you go on holidays, put some saran wrap over the top of the 33gal; therefore you will not loose as much water through evaporation.
  13. Do you leave your aquarium light on at night? If you leave your light on for a couple days in a row you can also obtain a bloom.... BLOOMING WONDERFUL eh...
  14. LMAO, sorry but that is funny! Who would of thought eh...
  15. I didn't take photos of the female borleyi, but you know if I had to pick out of my non-colored females I like them the best... as they are more silvery bodied with orange fins, compared to the ugly lemon jake female who is such a drab brown... I obtained him from Sue... he is the boss but I think only due to his size, because he is not agressive at all, the polit and cobalt blue are more agressive... funny how they figure that out...
  16. Thanks guys! I am currently looking into obtain a couple wc kipili the one in the photo is an F1. The reason for that is because I want the size and not many people carry the kipili's it seems like. I wont obtain them though probably until summer, but I am really looking forward to it though... The dolphin fry are the one's that were spit out at CAS auction... soon as I get my poop together they will be in a larger tank, so should grow some then... I managed to save about 30 ish, the others that had their sac on them still never made it, well one did, but that was it... I will probably keep 6 out of what I have then sell the rest...
  17. It is so relaxing to hear the water and watch them swim .... I think if we are able to build a house....come on bank... then I will put a tank in my room... just so on days when I am green under the gills, I can still have their company to make me feel better...
  18. Okay I have had a rough couple days, so figured I needed to do something to take my mind off of things, so I decided to take some photos so here they are... In these photos you will see, Dolphin Fry about 1.25" in length, borley, lemon jake, my blue cobalt male and one of my kipili fronts... is there a way to sex the fronts without venting them?
  19. Right now I will work on being silver....LOL
  20. Oh okay, I have the frozen brine here I think from July and the flakes are here from then too, I did feed just some spirulina flakes this afternoon... Should I just throw that stuff out? I normally feed the NLS cichlid formula for everything over 2" and for my dolphin fry they get the NLS grow... I love your dolphins! their big ole lips look so kissable...not that I have kissed a fish...well not as an adult anyway...LOL... I just love the dolphins... I can not wait until my lil one's grow up...
  21. Well I know I get sick of food if I have to eat the same thing day in and day out... but I was unsure of the fish, our brains are bigger, well at least I would like to think they are...LOL I will mix it up with what I have here, I do have some spirulina flakes, frozen brine shrimp and the NLS, when those things run out, I will just repurchase those... I will also feed some worms and so forth when supplies are available... Lana

Welcome to AA, You will like it here and learn a ton!
  23. YEAHHHH, glad things worked out for you!
  24. Thank you all for your replies! I think I will stick to the NLS... My fish seem to like it, and they like the flakes I sometimes give them as a treat, or the frozen brine shrimp... I don't give them those very often...but once in a while I sure do...
  25. I have no idea, but that is a very interesting test you did, we have the tap one for my shower and I know it is time for a change, because the pressure is not as good and you can see the rust coming through it within a day... but our water really sucks right now... just threw out my favorite dress sweaters due to rust puke from my washing machine...ugh...
