  1. I like natures corner and aquarium enthusiasts in edmonton because they have wonderful knowledge and enjoy teaching and doing what is best for the fish.
  2. Hi there, my GBR's are spawning again. This is so new to me, and the first time they did this their eggs were all gone within 2 days! I have heard that it may take a few tries for them to know what to do with their babies, I also still have not set up a tank for them to have some 'private space' and my loaches enjoyed the snack as well. Why do they eat their own babies? They seem really happy in my tank, if I get another smaller one set up, will they still spawn, or could they just quit because they don't like the new environment?
  3. Howdy from our zoo as well! We have pared down to 4 cats, an old Chow/Lab retired guard dog, our wonderful baby pitbull puppy, 1 crown tail betta in a huge vase, 1 10 gal tank and 1 45 gal community tank, as well as the 4 two legged critters some people call children......
  4. speaking of congos....i'm looking for some more!! congrats
  5. wow, i learned a lot today too! thanks!!
  6. I got my Killi's here in Leduc at PetsGO. They have them there all the time, saw some there 2 days ago. Mine are Golden Wonder, as well as the ones at the store. If there is a PetsGO in Med hat, maybe they buy from the same supplier?!?!
  7. my GBR's eat their eggs lots too!
  8. WOW! Since you know a lot about Betta's......... I am getting the feeling from this forum that the betta lovers have pretty nice tanks for their fish. Why do lfs' tell you they are very happy in a little vase or bowl? I was told they were happier in smaller spaces, they get stressed in big tanks. I had my betta in my community tank, but with the gourami in there, they were too similar, and didn't get along. (there are some similarities to the two species right??) I took, him out of my 45 gal, put him in with a few tetra's and molly's in my 10 gal, and he ended up getting "pop-eye". I took him out of there and put him in a 4 L vase. He recovered, seems happy, but when I see the nice setups here on the forum for betta's, I get the feeling he is being jipped. Could being in with other fish have stressed him and contributed to the pop-eye? No other fish got sick. I watch my tanks all throughout the day here and never saw him getting bugged. Should I try him back in my 45 gal comm. tank now? I lost my gourami a while ago. There are GBR's, Bolivian Rams, Congo tetras, Killi Fish and Loaches...oh and 4 glass catfish and a pleco.
  9. I am also interested in GBR's here close to Edmonton. I have 4, 2 paired up, but my loaches ate the eggs. I am hoping to seperate them, but that won't happen any time soon. Any nice looking ones up in this neck of the woods??
