  1. I love my stand as well. Thanks for making it for me! I haven't gotten any good pictures of it as the lighting is too dark in my house but now we are painting the walls and ceiling it should lighten it up enough. Please PM me your email and I will send some to you.
  2. My grandma and her boyfriend live there. Olive McDonald and John Peterson (I think thats his last name) they live out on Wildrose Drive along the river.
  3. Hey Randy, Last time I was up there I was 11 and I actually got to tour a gold mine. Would it have been that one? It looks very familiar. I also remember the dump as being the place to find lots of good stuff. I think next summer we will be taking a trip up that way as my grandma is in Hay River and my husband has never been any farther than High Level. Let me know if you need any africans, I have a couple of extra male dolphins...
  4. :welcome: to AA. This is just the beginning LOL
  5. All I can say is make sure and get adults and from a good source. You may pay more but really you would be paying less. I have had my share of disease and drama from my discus. They can go from perfect to bad in a day, they are such drama kings and queens. If you dont do adults then go bare bottom until they are at least 5.5 to 6 inches, Im finding this out the hard way
  6. I think they are all enjoying their new home. There has been no real altercations or aggression even with the mbunas(they mostly chase each other). It sounds like a trout farm when I come to feed them all you hear is smacking lips. They are going to eat me out of house and home :smokey:
  7. No and yes...I was doing water changes when they were in the 30 gallon every 2 days at either 30 or 50% by the bucket. Now that I have them in the 75 planted they get 40% every 4 days and seem to be doing fine. I have had some illness battles with them but they seem to come out of it pretty well and havent lost anyone to illness. Are you looking at getting into discus?
  8. I bought 2 XP4's from ebay for 160.00 plus shipping which was in Canada, got them for less than 200 a piece. All I run is Rena and would maybe move to a Eheim but not a FX5. I run a XP4 on both my 70 and 75 gallon and a XP3 on my 30 gallon. No complaints and super easy to clean.
  9. Moved the guppies out last night and the tank is at 84. The cories are okay so far and are a wonderful clean up crew.
  10. I had made a DIY cement background but I didnt mix the cement right and it kept cracking even with wet towels and spraying so I ditched it. Plus the Aqua-Terra backgrounds are about 6 inches too short for the tank.
  11. Thanks Greg, I tried to add the CO2 but they got a little cranky so the plants will have to do without...
  12. Thanks to Fishful Thinking, Rayfong, and Fairdeal for all the great fish!
  13. Finally got them moved over to the 75 gallon along with 2 blue rams, one albino BN, one regular BN,4 green cories and some guppies.
  14. Thanks for the wonderful fish. They all made it on the long journey and have been eating like crazy. I will get some pics up of the tank soon!
  15. Auloncaura Jacobfriebergi "Eureka Red" Nimbochromis Polystigma Dimidiochromis Dimidiatus O.B Peacocks x2 Auloncaura Sp. Strawberry Peacock x 2 German Ruby Red Protomelas sp "spilonotus tanzania" Labidochromis caeruleus Red Empress Syndontis Eupterus x 2 and 3 W/C Plecos. So far, I have to pick up some more fish on Tuesday!
  16. Hey everyone. I thought I would share a picture of my 225 gallon minus fish and the DIY background that I had made. I decided against putting the background in the tank as it took up too much swim room, so I sprayed the back of the tank with a granite like spray paint leaving some spots for the light to come through. I also have to applaud  BOOM for the stand as it is beautiful. I have since added the 12 or so fish that I had on hand and moved my discus(and the plants in the 20 gallon to the left) into the 75 gallon.
  17. :welcome: to AA!! Wow I have a 125 gallon pond, no bobcat just me a shovel and a wheelbarrow(hubby didnt even help)no fish though just a waterfall made with flat rock harvested from a creek on my moms farm. Make sure and take lotsa pictures of the build.
  18. I do water changes every 2 days 30% one and 50% the next, ect. I feed 4 times a day 8am NLS discus pellets, 12pm NLS flakes 5pm NLS discus pellets 9pm Hikari Frozen blood worms or Hikari frozen brine shrimp. They are in a 30 gallon hex right now with an XP3 filter. They will be moved to a 75 in the next 3 weeks once I get it set up for them and get the cichlids out. They are all an average of 3-4 inches. Or some breeders send them to LFS which is where some of mine came from. I love them the way they are, stunted, peppered doesnt matter to me. Yeah, some breeders will. They call then "LFS quality" :P Your feeding and water change regime sounds fine. They should grow out nice and big! Remember, no gravel in your 75g! You won't be sorry (much, much easier to clean.) All my tanks have sand in them except the 20 that is planted(eco complete substrate) and I do not regret getting rid of the gravel
