  1. Just to give an update..my betta is still alive and he seems better after I moved him to 1 gal tank. The water test result is also good. So..I guess regardless whether or not he sick because of the fight with the gold ram, I'll need to separate them. Thanks all for your info
  2. The tank is 6 gallon. I don't make any changes in the tank & type of food. I will do a water test as soon as I'm at home. when I saw his fins this morning I have a thought that my betta might fight with my gold ram. The ram is now almost the same size as the betta. I don't know for sure what cause him sick, I hope I can still see him alive tonight. thanks.
  3. I changed the water last week. There is one gold ram and 2 small endlers in the tank. I haven't replaced any filter or media. I moved him to a smaller tank (1 gal) this morning and don't know how he's doing yet. hopefully he'll still alive when I come home. thanks.
  4. Before I go to work, I always check my betta. This morning I found him just stay at the bottom of the tank. I notice his top fins are torn a bit. he still breathing but doesn't seem to react when I knocked the tank. help.. what should I do? He is my favorite betta and I always said to my self.. this betta can't die
  5. Ok..finally I can attach the pictures. I took the pictures using my phone so..they;re not that great looking pictures. but here they are : 1. Few days after the tank was set up: 2. I like watching Fluval in the dark : 3. Fluval - using original light: 4. Fluval - using LED light:
  6. Are you a professional photographer? your pictures are always amazing.
  7. nice tanks. I've fluval too and would love to show it off too ....but for some reason I can't upload the picture from my phone . maybe the setting or something. I'll try to take some pictures again and see if I can upload it here.
  8. went home today just to find her lying at the bottom, died . it's just a fish.. but I'm still sad when she died. Thank you fishclubgirl.
  9. Thank you for your reply. I have her since wednesday last week.. so 5 days. I place her in a 1 gal tank and change the water every 2 days. I noticed few days after I have her, her fins were closed. but at least her position was straight. last night, I gave her melafix and she seemed a little bit better. This morning before I left, she doesn't seem good again. she's barely moving and again her position is flat eventhough she still floating. A friend of mine who gave me this betta mentioned that she got beaten by other betta before I had her. I don't see any open wounds though.. and she looked fine when I got her. I'm not really sure what is going on.
  10. hi, my female betta is swimming funny. she pretty much stay in one position most of the time and almost flat. any idea why? what should I do? I'll be so sad if she die thanks for your help.
  11. Awesome pictures. How did you do that? Just last week I was lucky enough to see at least 10 bears including the cubs, coyotes, big horn sheep. I, of course took several pictures of them..but ..I'm not satisfied with the results. Would you mind sharing the tips? Thanks.
  12. Secretly I'm dreaming to have an aquarium in my bedroom's wall. I think it'll be so cool & romantic ...but I don't dare to tell this to my hubby LOL. He's already said NO when I asked to get a 2nd tank. Although I get a feeling that he won't have a problem if I get a 2nd tank...with the fish in it
  13. this is so wild!! How long did it take to complete this? I'm impressed. My 6 gal tank is absolutely nothing compared to yours LOL.
  14. did you declare them? does the custom require any document to accompany the fish?
  15. Look like adding carbon works. After I put the carbon..the water looks clearer now. It's not like a tea anymore. thanks for the suggestion.
  16. Sorry to hear that your betta died . I felt sad too when my bettas died. hope this won't stop you to have another betta.
  17. I had similar experience like this last year with my super delta. I gave him melafix and my betta was better and swim normal after 5 days in melafix. But then after a week of looking healthy and swimming normal, all the sudden I found him in the morning lied down at the bottom looked in pain. I gave him melafix again and moved him in a different container and he was survive for a while but then died at 4 PM I am not sure what went wrong...but I think I should make sure the water is in a good condition. I hope your betta can make it.
  18. Diatom? I don;t know this. Thank you cause it'll lead me to find more information about diatom. I was trying to take a close up picture of the plant..but it's blurry. so for now, I'll take the diatom as a starting point of my investigation
  19. one year?? oh wow!! but that's good to know..at least I know what to expect. Taking out the driftwood probably the last option cause I do like the wood.
  20. I've my 6 gallon tank set up 5 weeks ago. I notice that the water (color) tends to brown like tea after couple days. I thought the color will be better if I do the water change frequently. However, after 5 weeks..the color still like tea..and most of the plants are now covered by a dusty brown looks. Are these cause by the driftwood ..or algae? I've tried to clean the plant by scrubbing it (gently)...it doesn't work. the 'dust' still there. Just for information, before I put the wood in the tank, i've boiled it twice and also left it in a separate water container for 2 nights. I like my driftwood..and still want to keep it in the tank. Anyone has the same problem like mine?
  21. Thanks for the tip. I just moved them to a place where they can get sunlight to help the photosynthesis to occur Yes, they do have bubbles and can move around or float.
  22. I only have them for couple days..and I love them. That's good that you mentioned to not let them sit in the same place all the time. I just shake the tank a little bit and it's fun to watch them bouncing
  23. To all.. Reading all the comments made me smile and laugh I first saw this from Youtube..and thought that this moss ball looks cool and I could imagine having it in my Fluval Edge. I don't know anything about this moss but I took the chance to get 3 balls from Tank A Lot. It cost me $9.99 each. I now think that I could get a cheaper price from ebay...but oh well too late now. Thank you for all the info & advice in how to take care them. I put them in a 1 gal container for now. Once I have my tank delivered & set up, I will place them and hopefully my betta loves them.
