  1. Play sand is a lot dirtier and rather boring. Target sells "pretty" sand!

    Hi

Welcome to the site. Tons of good info here.
  8. The clear is all pale/medium blue. Is not fading lol. I imagine they will show up better when I put them in their new black sand tank.
  9. I would love to offer pics but my camera is not picking the color up. They look similar to the blue rili from Shrimp Fever
  10. I am not sure if the blue will show up on camera. Right now they are in a breeder net while the tank cures with it's new substrate.
  11. I recently purchased some nice red rili shrimp from the lovely Wingin' It. I put them in my fluval spec. It has blue sand in it, apparently the blue dye used is quite tasty. I now have the neatest shrimp, blue with red accents!
  12. +1 I have several species of snails and they do rid the tank of algae and do a nice job of keeping the glass clean. I have never seen evidence of the pond snails eating live plants. Embrace them, the do a lot of good for the harmony of the tank. My suggestion would be to replace them with a nicer looking snail. Nothing prettier than seeing a tank with red ramshorn!
  13. Plants can do quite well without co2. I feel the substrate has more to do with success than anything. Simple sand is not quite enough to provide nutrients. I personally do a combination of organic ingredients covered in sand. Java moss can do quite well attached to rocks or perhaps java fern. Using these types of plants you may not have to change the substrate.
  14. I find my GSP will not eat Malaysian trumpet snails, the shells are too hard for them. I set a tank right in front of a window, add bladder and ramshorn snails, and have more than enough.
  15. thanks for the info, I will have to check it out!
  16. Quite a collection! Welcome to the site
  17. Love the blue grass and the purple snakes! Add me to your baby list!
  18. Thanks to the judges who took time to make this happen.
  19. Thanks for all the hard work Wingin'it! It was a fun day and the rain held off until the last burger was flipped. Thanks to Fred and Mary for all the work preparing for the bbq!
