BIG ALS has some and some gold spotted/orange

I'm trying to track down some black sand for my 90gal/geophagus tank.I've been reading online about buying black sand from homedepot/rona,lowes etc.Anyone know where I can find this? Also I am wondering about adding some kind of substrate to add to the sand that really glows in lighting which I'm also wondering which light will do this? picked up some more geophagus proximus today at Big Als.

in tank and inline? eheim 2217 filter lost afemale 5 yr old green sev from my pair Aqueon 250w unbreakable quit after 6 months

what is a good tank heater,inline and in tank? i have eheim 2217 i just bought a Aqueon 250w non breakable in march april and it quit and killed one of my 5yr old green severums (female) in a pair

A walk around the house/yard today exposed many different bugs which triggered in my mind....feed them to the severums.Well I must say they went nuts and are standing guard at the front glass watching my every move now.Can they eat tent caterpillars? I know many animals won't.

anyone have these? what can ya tell me about them?

since this stuff seems to make my tanks clearer than any filter media I've tried,can i extend my water changes?

with the corys I would say geophagus,the sand would be very busy with all them sifting

update: the purigen made the tank crystal clear in 2 days

I introduced 4 large blood parrots,pleco and 2 rainbow sharks into a 100gal with CYCLE added and prime ,no problems.That was 4 yrs ago and everything is good. The CYCLE introduces bacteria and the PRIME kills amonia,I just added some of each daily and didn't feed them much for the first week to keep down on terds. I have done this twice without any issues.

still haven't had any luck finding a few earth eater GEOPHAGUS PROXIMUS,I tried SPENCERJACK without any luck and have heard good things in the passed.

has anyone tried a big pond filter for a tank this size?

It's been 12 hrs with a 100ml pack og PURIGEN in my eheim 2217 and there isn't a noticeable difference yet.....how long should i expect to wait on 95gallons?

we recently installed a whole house water filtering system to fight off discoloring of water etc from alkalinity/tanin,so my question is....how do i remove tanin/discoloring in a fresh water tank?

i've added liquid cycle to a new tank along with fish with zero troubles

i feed that tank a mixture of 3 or 4 pellets and the severum ends up eating 95% of them and the pleco the rest

i've tried several veggies cucumber slightly boiled,peas,spinach and about 3-4 different pellets but they won't eat anything but blood worms or frozen shrimp.I'm concerned they are noy getting proper nutrition ,i'm going into Edm. this morningwhere can i buy it

Skip a few days of feeding, and try again. If they are hungry enough they should try it. they won't ever eat it,as soon as i feed them the frozen stuff (once every 3 days)they go nuts .The severum with them eats all the nls.The nls practically falls right on there geos heads without any interest......what other food can i try?
