  1. Got my shipment this morning and they are getting comfortable in their new home after a lengthy drip acclimatization. Got a wide range of colours from hint of blue to dark blue and they are looking good.
  2. Have you got yours yet?
  3. Good luck, I hope you get a bunch of dark blues.
  4. I'll keep everyone updated, mine are due to arrive tomorrow before noon. Ron
  5. Good to hear she still had some available; when I last replied, she didn't know if she had enough to fill my order. Ron
  6. You can get black PVC, I plan on using it on my tank when I build it. PITA though as I had to order from 3 or 4 different places in the states to get all the pipe and connections I wanted.
  7. I had one set up on 10 gallon for a bit, the shimmer effect took a little getting used to. I have since replaced it with a different (smaller profile) LED. 2 online stores are offering 20% off on them right now. Ron
  8. I am getting them from Anna, I found her on another forum a couple of weeks ago. I believe I am cleaning her out of her current stock, but give her a shout. Ron
  9. No way o.O where Huh?
  10. Bringing some in next week.

    R/o Unit And Water

I installed my check valve which should enable my auto shut off unit to prevent future floods, I'll let you guys know if it works out for me. Ron

    R/o Unit And Water

Depending on what you need it for you should be reconditioning the RO water. I personally use it to water down Calgary's hard tap water for my shrimp. I believe TDS should be in ppm (parts per million) and it should be 0 coming out of a fully functioning RO/DI system. I have a TDS meter built into my RO/DI system so I know when I need to change out my membrane. My biggest tip is don't leave the house while you're filling up a bucket.......you could come home to a dripping ceiling like I did. Ron
  13. My nerite snails do a way better job than my RCS do.

    Aquarium Builders

Are you doing something custom (frameless or Starfire glass)? If not and I would just call B & I Aquariums and have them build them. It's a standard frame so it should be quick and easy, their 40 gallon breeders are $98 including the glass lids.
  15. Agreed definitely need your water parameters first. I would also double check the water parameters of the individual you got the shrimp from.
  16. Wowsers, I think I'll drill a hole in my all intakes to break the siphon in case this ever happens.
  17. I've witnessed mating a couple of times and it's always belly to belly. So I don't think riding on the back would be doing the deed.
  18. Fixed link: http://fishprofiles....lus%20-Upda/59/ Do you have any golden Otos available?
  19. Yup in my Painted Fire Red Cherry shrimp tank and have not noticed any shrimp deaths. Tough to say how much I used as i wasn't sure of the concentration I used. I added 0.5 mL on day one and day two, waited a couple more days and the hydra were all shriveled up. Tried it on a tank with Planaria as well but the results were not as good. I will try "No Planaria" next time.
  20. They would be perfect if they didn't eat plants and ate Planaria. They get rid of hydra very well but for my planted tanks I use fenbendazole.
  21. I would say crossbacks are the most expensive Arowanas unless we're talking albinos but that's another story. If you're trying to avoid aggression, I would stay away from Greens as well. I believe Super Reds are the least aggressive but all will depend on the individual's temperment. I see you're going to Red Deer, you could contact Bret at Shine Aquatics, he brings in great Aros. He supplies most of the Asian Arowanas at Pisces, check them out and you'll get an idea of his stock. He carries higher end Arowanas but still great value for the money. Good luck. Ron
  22. Are the first 3 Rili? Start pumping out those OEBTs, I want some.
  23. My Spixi eat Hydra and plants, not Planaria. Ron
