  1. Hmmm, that looks like it's gonna be awesome man! I just picked up my SQWD and sump pump. Hopefully, I'll have time to work on the tank and plumbing this weekend. Pictures as soon as I figure out what's wrong with my Photoshop (memory leak somewhere now... eating up my ram HARDCORE, like 213423x more then it did last week).
  2. Hmmm, hard to say from the description and pictures... I don't know, something about preserved fish just don't do it for me.
  3. Dicrossus filamentosus Copadichromis azureus Copadichromis geertsi Cyrtocara moorii Some kind of Hypostamus sp. Rhino Pleco (P. scrophus)
  4. No go for me, I'm attending a friend's wedding in Edmonton... Take lots of pics!
  5. I'll check who we're dealing with. The name escapes me right now, but I know we deal with GoldStar through the states on some orders and the company that took over East Coast in Ontario as the other. (Apologies for the poor sentence structure, I'm late for work.)
  6. I got everything. How bout everyone else? I can try to take care of it later once I'm finished writing my essays.
  7. BWAHAHAHA, but I still have all of you owned for nano-ness. Got one of those silly Azoo Razzle Dazzle things sitting on my desk with a mad growth of GSP, that curly spaghetti algae stuff, a photosynthetic gorgonian and a harlequin shrimp. A year and counting now. PH33R
  8. Hey Andy, You talking about that DOB skimmer design floating around on www.nano-reef.com?
  9. There's no point though, since live rock is pretty much critical to the long term success of a reef tank. Seriously, just get your live rock and let it cook in the tank for 2-4 weeks.
  10. Why bother with the fish? Just get some live rock and "sit it" in the tank for a month. Bam, instant cycled tank.
  11. I doubt it's the salt that's wearing your impellers. Check for aragonite sand particles.
  12. My Webpage Scroll down for pics of random stuff. The top is just blog. Uhhh, contains swears and stuff, so yeah. Enjoy! PS. Anyone else out there have personal sites?
  13. I think the point was stated fairly clearly in the topic heading.
  14. I saw those. They went for some ludicrously high price ($50 or something). I remember selling those things at Dennis's for $15. Same size and probably better condition since they were kept singly. What the crap?
  15. You're gonna have to update me on my acronyms Tim.... Are you talking African Tiger Fish?
  16. HAHAH, wait til I see an arapaima in the store. I'm Pm'ing you first thing. (Note: Not bloody likely that we'll ever get another one...)
  17. Yeah, they do NOTHING. I've kept them before and forgot they were even there after a week.
  18. I'm gonna eat my words now... Besides, I didn't know you wanted one.. Lemme see if I can still get one for you from one of the guys who got some. He might not keep all of them after all. Anyway, I don't own Gold Aquariums but I do handle the majority the store's online traffic. We don't do special orders unless the fish is available at our intown wholesaler. I'll have to check with the owner for you on that one. You can check out our site at www.cichlids.ca. Just PM me if you have any questions about our store.
  19. Actually, I'd label them as rare in the sense that no one wants to stock this fish. It's what you'd call a year long haul -- they sit in tanks for a year until someone like Tim comes along and scoops em . Personally though, I'm a big fan of weird fish like this.
  20. If your intent is to breed, you'll probably want something like 2:8-10. I'm stressing more then one male here in the case of accidental death. You don't want to be stuck with a bunch of females you can't breed.
  21. I'm starting to debate the merits of F0 (if there are any) over line bred after looking at that...
  22. It may actually be genetic. Keep in mind that until recently, no new Electric Yellows have been shipped out of the lake since the first bunch entered the hobby (forever ago). Your abberant markings may be genetic throwbacks stemming from this lack of diversity in the gene pool. There was a big debate about this on cichlid forums last year. I'll find the link when I get back home for you.
  23. That's pretty monster. I'm a fan of large haps too. You can't go wrong with the Kiwinge.
