  1. Will amano shrimp bother bother eggs and fry?
  2. No, the 'egg spots' typically mean male on certain cichlids.
  3. I think half of us on here got our initial RCS breeding stock from Jvision, lol.
  4. Wow lots of good information here, thanks everyone! And this is EXACTLY what I'm hoping for.
  5. I am picking up a breeding trio of BN's this weekend and was wondering if anyone has experimented with breeding Cherry's and BN's in the same tank? Would be a 20g or 30g heavily planted. Thanks.
  6. Yeah but it's on the honor system for the seller. After the bidding is ended, somebody who is browsing the forum may decide they'd be willing to pay more than the closing price and message the seller with a higher offer. If the seller was unscrupulous then he may just ditch the auction idea and sell to the new, higher bidder. Although, I don't see why a "silent auction" wouldn't work, where you'd post what you have for sale as well as the reserve price then have people message you their bids.
  7. If there are some, you'll have to fight me for them. lol
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=XN-zkPpF90o Video of the little ones.
  9. What makes you say that? He is a fresh water Ghost Shrimp Yeah, but they actually give birth near or in saltwater then the babies slowly make their way back into fresh.
  10. You can see the electric blue daddy in the background on picture 3 by the way!
  11. He won't last long in freshwater sadly
  12. They WERE eggs, and we had the pleasure of watching them hatch. Now we have wrigglers!
  13. Thanks for the heads-up on the back foam piece as well as the advice on a foreground plant, I was trying to think of something I wanted in the front.
  14. I'll update ASAP, looks pretty good. EDIT: I'm in between algae scrapings right now so it won't look show-quality exactly :P
  15. Another fish room picture and a question: Are those possibly eggs above the Jewel cichlid on the moss ball there? Impossible to get a good picture.
  16. EDIT: wow never realized how horrible this picture looks. I'll update with a better one.
  17. So as per advice I've received both on this site and on others I've trimmed my Hygro right back (cut it in half) and replanted. I also read that just single leaves are known to produce growth so I pulled a couple leaves and planted them in the front right corners to see if that is the case. Additionally I pulled a couple leaves and left them as floaters to see if they'd sprout. After the trim:
  18. Yeah it's the Fluval Shrimp stratum, this will be the 3rd tank I've used it in and I love the stuff.
  19. Updating with a Fluval EBI that I started up last week: And today: That hygro grows every bit as fast as they say it does.. Unbelievable. EDIT: is that Hygro Polysperma in the back there? Also, can I make it propagate by trimming them in half and replanting the trimmings?
  20. I built the stand to actually fight a 30 on top with a 20 below it. Additionally I left the center section open in case we wanted to do a full stack and do 2x20g and 1x30g. EDIT: 24" glow fixture over the Cray breeding tank because I haven't been able to locate a 20" fixture from anyone *cough*. Also I'd like to thank AJanzen again for the awesome Java Moss for my Cray tank
