  1. Okay, I'll continue my search from there.
  2. Just as the title says, I'm hoping for identification on these two plants I recently got from aqua giant. (Couple weeks back I think)
  3. If you have large enough cichlids, nothing will work, not even Anubias. My Texas Cichlid destroys plants over night and if he doesn't get them... Someone else will. If they're larger than 8" I wouldn't even bother, but if you try it anyways and it works out please post it up here!
  4. The few spots I need it, it will be siliconed right into the tank, so floating shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for the heads-up though!
  5. To create the exact slopes and contours I want as well as "cliff" walls and whatnot without having to worry about the hills and whatnot deteriorating once there gets to be some flow in the tank.
  6. Aloha! Anyone ever used tenplast to create slopes in their aquarium? If you don't know what tenplast is, it's basically plastic cardboard.
  7. Anytime I've tried to mix sand and gravel, the sand all just falls through to the bottom anyways.
  8. You will be amazed how EASY the job is to do. The most work goes into prepping it - be anal about getting all the last remnants of silicone off and make sure it's dust-free before re-siliconing.
  9. Live bearers! Lol, they're only good as feeders imo.
  10. 1. Clean water and a little salt is best for healing wounds. 2. Aro's are notorious and powerful jumpers, make sure the top is not only fully covered but secured down so he can't forcefully push the top off. 3. Best way to transition to pellets (especially for larger fish) is just give him ONLY pellets. Eventually he will eat and with a fish as large as this one he's not going to miss a couple meals. People on MFK suggest that if he doesn't eat for a week, give in, give him some feeders, and try again. If he's been eating only pellets and frozen foods he's probably going to be malnourished (I'm assuming it was poor quality frozen food) so he's going to need the best food you can provide for him, preferably NLS.
  11. Couple big SA/CA cichlids. Texas and a Jack Dempsey. Or a Green Terror. Or a Midas! Midas are fantastic wet pets, love mine.
  12. Couple Blue Gene Jack Dempseys and a few black Angel fish.
  13. I'm happy I don't have to travel 5 hours one way to go. Woooooooh!
  14. A TV stand would likely work, depends on the build quality. You can find some pretty cheap stands that work well at Ikea.
  15. Not at all, items tend to go much cheaper than retail.
  16. Never knew they came in orange and that size. But quick research states that they do. Guess that won't be going in my main tank with guppies lol I had a hunch that the first two were Cory's. I'm happy about that. I think (quick research based on loaches) that #7 is a Angelicus Botia loach. Thoughts? Yeah they get quite large!
  17. Will definitely be adding ferts to the tank and will be adding co2 in the next couple days, just need to go buy the tank. I JUST moved into a new house so everything is extremely hectic. Will definitely be scaping it differently, we haven't even half-ways unpacked yet so I figured the tanks better take a backseat for now, lol.
  18. Before loading all the plants in: After loading all the plants in:
  19. I should have known! I'm normally the first one screaming for pics!
  20. These Finnex fixtures are ridiculous. Couldn't be happier.
  21. To be fair, the fish thing isn't his day job, I seen to recall he works shift work. To the OP: the guys prices are so cheap you can't go wrong really, that's why I ended up going with him. Turned out to be high quality fish as well.
  22. I just ordered 3 X 24" Finnex Ray 2 fixtures, excited.
  23. Wow some great information here. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and go for the Finnex Ray 2 though... Any pics of your Finnex setups?
