  1. How about hatchetfish? I've read of a lot of people keeping them with Honey Gouramis and dwarfs. Haven't tried personally as I tend to focus on bottom dwellers lol.
  2. Managed to snap a few pics of the banjo cats, I think they hide less due to the original tank had clown puke gravel. Smaller one is usually out in the open, the bigger one likes to leave its head out. Hoping I lucked out and got a pair, wouldn't mind breeding them as I never really see them at any stores.
  3. I have 4 pea puffers, so my problem is keeping enough tiny snails for them lol they rarely take on the big ones, so I have tons. Always welcome meeting people who don't think my fish obsession is crazy lol.
  4. What type of shrimp were you thinking? Any of the dwarf shrimps ie Cherrys I'm going to say no. Any of the big guys ie Amano I'd say should work.
  5. I'm venturing a guess of South American Puffer, if you ever make your way out to Devon I have an abundance of MTS and ramshorn snails you can have, and fairly certain a few others have some they can give you.
  6. I chose the craft mesh for that reason, I'd been reading of that issue happening so when the top starts going good I'm planning on flipping it to allow the bottom to get the full light as well. Little more work but hopefully will work.
  7. So have been meaning to do this for awhile, finally got off my butt and did it. 2-craft mesh full size pieces Something to hold/ hang it to back of tank Bunch of preferred moss Thread and needle Start spreading moss not to thick over mesh. Place second piece over and start time consuming task of sewing together Decide on how to attach to back of tank, I went with the left over plant bendy rings. Cut some small holes through both, learned easier to do when not together. Attach and wait to grow (fingers crossed), please excuse water as I aqua scaped to work the mesh in. So here's hoping this works, so I can start a few more panels to cover the back.
  8. My daughter's ADF tries to bully her rabbit snail, so have to agree frogs and fry Eep.
  9. Lol oh god, I couldn't imagine! Maybe next one will have an ogopogo lol
  10. Awesome sauce, so glad they are happy with yours! Pretty sure the micro rasboras are too in your school.
  11. So searching Kijiji, found a 10G tank complete for a whopping $10. One condition came with fish. I thought okay probably either goldfish or guppies. Whoo catfish was I wrong, the tank in question came with 2-twig catfish and 2- banjo catfish. The tank was cheap as no one wanted these "ugly" (their words, not mine) that they had bought because their 5yo son liked them. Their son lost interest because the fish never really did anything. So they are happily rehomed in my tanks, to a medium planted 30G to quarrentine. Any advice appreciated on the banjos, twigs will go join my other 2 in a 75G, but I have never kept banjos before. The Farlowellas are huge for such a tiny tank, one was around 8" long, the other around 5". The big one looks very similiar to the 2 (farlowella vittatas i believe) I already have but the smaller one is a beautiful red/gold coloration. Long story short, I'd chose the "ugly" fish any day. No pics of the other twig as he is in a corner and the banjos immediately buried themselves.
  12. Lol, contagious I think, rams breeding in a QT tank, still very monumental. Congrats.
  13. So picked this up for a steal of a deal, and decided oooo yellow cherry shrimp! So cleaned some sand (needs more), tucked in a preseeded sponge and some driftwood, and playing the waiting game now. Rick tock hurry up!
  14. Pic of Dad and the kids who are free swimming now. First spawn and they are doing great!
  15. Aww you ruined it for me, I was hoping she wouldn't show up and then I would corner the market on the cories. Cough.... cough..... *sniff sniff* I feel so loved!
  16. Tank divider would probably be the best as I have some crafting mesh sections that unused for it when I collected Bettas. Then i cpuld just snag the others without disturbing the parents too much. It's their first spawn, so hoping they will do well. Paul your a life saver!
  17. I'm super excited they have spawned, only problem is their are 5 adults in a 15 G tank. This was their quarrentine tank (garage sale rescue). I have another 30G (longer not tall) tank that was to be the home for pair or two sitting waiting as I was shuffling livestock to make room, my dilemma is the spawn is at wiggler stage, how should I proceed? The parents are doing great guarding, the other 3 should be removed but how to do this without causing a fry massacre by parents? What do I feed the fry? My microworms are dead as someone (hubby) put them in the freezer!!! Any advice extremely welcome.
  18. If I could get a list of all fish that would be sold at the auction....lol
  19. Where in the world did you find a 50lb bag of black sand for $10? Amazing looking tanks. Which tank would the Cory's be for ?
  20. Now I am yet again reshuffling my tanks (EEP) to provide some species tanks for my corys. My dilemma is my 75G Micro Macro tank. The stocking list is below, filters 2- hydor 4 sponge filters (80G each), playsand substrate, live plant (low tech/maintenance) jungle, 76-78F (no heater).I was wanting to add 6 Boraras Maculatus and 6 Boraras Brigittae as well but am worried either A) to much competition for food aggression/rowdiness from tankmates C) rams will eat them. They are currently kept in with my Rili Shrimp but am rehoming the shrimp soon hopefully and wanted to keep the microrasboras. Thoughts, suggestions, advice please. Stocking will be: 6 Oryzias woworae (neon blue daisy ricefish) 6 Pseudomugil Gertrudea Aru 2 6 Iriatherina Werneri (thread fin rainbow) 6 Irridescent Micropanchax Macrophthalus (irridescent lampeye killifish) 6 Ottocinclus 15+ Corydoras Hastatus 15+ Corydoras Habrosus 15+ Corydoras Pygmaseous 4 Mikrogeophagus Ramirezi sp. Gold (gold rams)
