I have a 75 Gallon that has a Fluval Plant LED that seems to be too much light for my tank. I am getting algae along the substrate, except not in shaded parts. I have my light cycle down to 6 hours, and am adding plants, but I also thought maybe I should put some floating plants in to diffuse and shield some light as well as soak Nitrates out. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for?

not when I was in - and I went back a couple of days later and the one I traded in was gone by then too.

He was a bully to everyone, but that might have just been his personality. Traded him back at Golds

he was being a tank bully and needed to find a new home - ended up taking him back to Gold's for credit. He called him an Electric Blue.

I picked this fish up from Golds and forgot to write down what it was - can anyone ID it?

I am looking to change a tank over to a male peacock cichlid (with hap and any other compatible fish) and am wondering what you might have to get me started.
-
would you dose a non planted tank (like a african cichlid tank with only sand and stones) with metricide simply for the algae control?

Just realized you are in Edmonton, so check with 67Elmo if you like those Angelfish, he has them up there

I am looking for a plant that will give me a nice carpet but not require alot of maintenance/trimming etc. 90 gallon with decent lights. I have eco complete substrate, dose ferts and excel. Any suggestions?

What would you suggest then for soil for neos to add some buffering? I will be using RODI.... or is that a bad idea for neos?
-
I am going to go with neocaridinas for now, get some experience and then I'll think about another tank to try some caridina. So I know I don't need active soil for neos - I would like to have a dark/black substrate. Would the black sandblasting sand be ok, or is there something else I might want to consider? Any suggestions?

Drilled the holes, painted all the pvc (found the paint at Canadian Tire). It is a slow moving project though, just as I have free time. I'll post an update in the next couple of days after I put it all back in the tank - then I will be back with questions on substrate

I'll check out Walmart and Canadian Tire on the way home tonight

No, just trying to balance the outlets into each partition so filtered water is going into each partition. I am sure the holes between each partition are sufficient, but I also didn't want the full force of the water being blown into one partition either. So hoping this accomplishes both - spreads the force of the flow across each partition so no one is being blown around, and make sure freshly filtered water is available to everyone.
-
The filter outlets will be connected to a canister filter... so no need for a check valve I dont think... unless I am missing something...
-
Where did you get Krylon Fusion from? I stopped by the local Lowes and Rona and neither had it.

I may also add a Sochting Oxydator Mini to each partition when they come back in stock.
