I find my discus to be quite finicky (sp?). The wild caught will only eat blood worms and the rest will eat the tetra bits Dave

I noticed at the local Home Depot they were selling sticks of bamboo (which were sitting in water). I see these throughout the day at various oriental restaurants Does anyone have any experience with these using them in their aquariums? Any thoughts? Dave

Back a few years I worked in a veterinary clinic. One of the first things I learned is vets often have a specialty. Some work on farm animals, dogs and cats, wildlife and of course fish (I must admit this is a first I am aware of) We don't believe in "disposable fish". We do what we can to cure them and regrettably sometimes have to put them down. Yes, we would probably bring fish to the vet (if we knew of one in town). Dave

Go to your local hardware store and buy a few bags of "Target Play Sand". It is about $5 a bag. Be sure to rinse the heck out of it before it gets to your tank though! Dave

It is possible but will become unstable the higher you go. I just replaced my cinder block stands with 2" X 4" constructed stands. This way I can go two tanks high and still be very stable Dave

If the bottom of your stand has four pillars I would put plywood under it. If it is spread over a large are you probably dont have much to be worried about Is it going on hardwood floors, tile or carpet? Dave
