Looking for some pool filter sand in Edmonton? Any ideas where to find? Tried big box stores wally-mart and couple hot tub places with no luck.

I agree max surface area works for mbuna. I'm lucky my mbuna tank in basement with lotsa room 84"x24"x18" with an 120gal sump. With 3 large rock piles across tank. I'd do the 46" long tank. 16" wide little yo narrow for me but will work

Expert tips and more tanks...always starts with 1 or 2 then hobby takes over basement with large tanks. Welcome though!

Wow that was fun....got lots of plants, few albino bristles,4 mini filters, 8 old school heaters, 7 mopani driftwood, shrimp hatchery, 15 gallon tank , 5 gallon tank, few air pumps and more "stuff" Also got the "evil eye" once home from wifey. She thinks 4 tanks is enough.... Next one in 6 months I think. Starting the AAAF now. (Alberta Aquatic Auction Fund)

if use on a 55gallon just make an spray bar for entire lenght of tank....will help with flow issues also use larger holes drilled into spray bar helps reduce pressure of water coming out. google fx5 spray bar for ideas for them
