  1. is just waiting for summer...

  2. It was amazing to see how huge those creatures get! And it was nice to see that they did not kill them! I love National Geographic
  3. Freaking sweeeeet!! Pump working ? Great idea with those heaters, man I sure wish I would have done that!!! Beautiful Rays!!!
  4. Amazing! It actually makes me miss my tank :banned: Why the one ray? And I would hate to see your food bill especially with the ray and the arrwo! Very Nice!
  5. Thanks so much for the advice! I couldn't resist buying the water lilies from walmart, and some absolutely amazing purple callas from there as well! I have no patience, and this sucks, this crappy weather.... I have heaters that I can add to the pond, so heat is not an issue. Is that a better idea fishclubgirl or are bettas still a bad idea? Thanks so much for all the advice. This weekend is reptile show and me looking around for pond stuff!
  6. I'm so excited. I dug my hole, put my 60 gallon pond in, filled around it, added some rocks, filled it with water, and IT SNOWED!!! Looks so good those pics coming along... Where is a good place to get some pond plants? I was looking at getting some reeds and water lilies.... I'm too excited! And I was thinking of some beta in the pond....Anybody with advice cause I am new at this.?
  7. Nice looking! Keep your water clean, that will help with the eye. Are they eating well? Number one concern with ray keepers (I'm sure you have been told that, Lol) That Male is looking well, claspers coming in. Keep Pics coming, cause I miss mine
  8. That is sooooooo cool! Amazing shots!
  9. Try giving him shrimp (like from the grocery store) with the shell on it. He might pick at the shrimp in the shell..... Have you tried clams in shell? That is one picky little dude that will not eat snails! All of my puffers in the past have gone nutty for snails!! I have just dropped them in the tank and the puffer goes at them like a rotti to meat!!! Try not feeding him for a couple of days and then trying to give him the snails. It is really cool to watch them go at them too! Good luck and keep up posted!
  10. Sting rays don't go around and sting things..... They only release the stinger when the tail is grabbed. It is a defense mechanism. Fire eels are an excellent addition to a ray tank as long as they are bigger than the rays mouth so that they don't think it is food!
  11. Hey Quat; If you can come to the store I would love to go to the meeting!!
  12. Holy Crap!!!! Seriously amazing!!!!
  13. Your are looking at a fish that is mostly an unfriendly kinda of guy. I have heard of someone putting a common plec in the tank to help with the algae, but he was almost the same size if not bigger than the puffer. I don't know of any friends that a fakaka can have cause they will rip ANYTHING apart! They even love to eat all snail, even the baseball ones, fresh water clams, all inverts, and any fish! Wish you luck though, if you do find anything, please post cause I know of some people who are in the same boat as u!!
  14. What a healthy looking little girl! Bringing home a new ray feels like bringing home a new baby!! Well, maybe not quite....you sleep more with a new ray!
  15. Females are not normally the one who start the mating game. The problem may be that she wants to show her dominance. Just likecin any other colony, stingrays have a herarchy. In my tank, the big female eats, then the male, then the other female does. Another thing to keep in mind is that 2 males in one tank when during breeding they might fight. How big are theses rays? Or she might just be a little witch.......
  16. Amazing BGK, love watching them when the dart back and forth for food! I even had one that would dart from one side of the tank to the other side for shrimp. Yours is amazing!
  17. AHHHHHHHH!!! Babies and look at those spots!!! Man are they going to be stunning! I am sooo envious of you and can hardly wait for mine to start breeding!!! Can we see some pics of the parents? So awesome!    :smokey:
  18. I was going to put some fronts in my tank, but someone whom I trust who knows something about cichilds (which I know nothing) said that it is a bad combo due to the fact that fronts eat off the bottom and may pick at the rays... Silver dollars are a good idea and African Fever's idea is great about trying with feeders! I am going to get ride of my arro I think and try silvers. I know one of my females LOVES feeders so I have keep that in mind. I tried once a eurptus catfish and and that did not work! At night it would take chunks out of one of my rays...That one did not last long once I came downstairs at about 3am and saw this. Sharks are also in that same line as the fronts due to the fact that they are bottom feeders and once they might get big enough, they might pick on the rays. And no salt with rays...so no brakish
  19. That arrow is stunning! The colour on him! WOW! No idea that there eyes were red too. Nice shots btw.
  20. Thanks alot... Now I have a plan!
  21. Does anyone have any experience with a RO system and attaching it to an overflow system? This is what ideally what I would like to do. Is this possible or am I stuck with buying a seperate system. Any suggestions please.
  22. *cough* clown loaches... stay away from the botias though. I found them to be mean and nasty Jvsion Could have sworn that I asked you if they were cone shaped or reg snails Or use the product "snail away" (I think it is called)
  23. All I can say is stunnning..... I have such a weakness for beauty!
