  1. congrats, mine are not doing anything at the moment. need to figure out how to get them in the mood.
  2. blackjungle Colby directed me to this site yesterday, I was discussing my paladarium with him. I found it quite interesting. Also I found an expanding foam that is used for ponds called Aquascape waterfall expanding foam, says it is safe for fish once cured, comes in black. Has anyone seen this foam or used it. Henry, do you carry this stuff
  3. It's definately safe, the guy who sells it actually put his finger in it and put his finger in his mouth. There's nothing in it except a mixture of acids that we naturally find in foods that we eat.
  4. Actually, last spring while we were in Spain, down around Ronda and Grazalema there are dozens of cork farms, and this is probably where it is from. Most of the areas that are national reserves are usually where you will find the lynx. Same as Banff, Jasper, Waterton etc. here.
  5. They are okay for a couple of weeks in a breeder net. Too big to fit in other fishes mouths Swords will definately eat their own young There is not a lot of what I would call "cover" for the little guys. Just some plastic plants and gravel. Get some Java moss, Hornwort, Cabomba. All of these provide some cover for fry and give them a better chance of survival. Would my 20watt halogen light be enough to keep some java moss alive? The above plants will do fine with it.
  6. I would love to go on a trip dedicated to collecting fish, I worry though on the red tape of bringing back live fish. Definately something to learn more of the ins and outs on.
  7. I use floss, ceramic bio-media, and sponges, if I have more room I top it up with sponges
  8. I would toss the heater lots of possible headaches that will cost you a lot more than a heater. For the future to save your cords. Get a surge protector you can mount on the wall. This will allow you to keep all the cords up higher. As for the surge protector get some electrical staples or wire clips to hold them firmly against the wall. A little harder and less temping to the bunny.
  9. Thanks, they are my babies and next time they decide to spawn maybe theie eggs willmake it a little longer
  10. I also get itchy from my arms being in the water, just sensitive to bacterias and or chemicals. Usually goes away once I wash up, and dry up.
  11. Well the eggs were all gone this morning, they probably ate them since they weren't as hungry as usual this morning.
  12. I'm not expecting much this is their first spawning, but I know for sure I have a pair now. I started with six, from Riverfront, that I had Christian pick out. One died early on, not sure why. I had to pull two of them out last month, they were getting picked on. They are temporarily in Ward community tank. Yesterday, I finally had their permanent home set up and cycled, moved the 3 remaining ones into it and presto, eggs. I will probably move the odd man out into the community tank today.
  13. Sorry not the greatest pics, trying to not upset them. another pic eggsSome more pics
