Synodontis decorus at golds for 14.99. Synodontis Brichardi 44.99 at Pisces. Either one are awesome. Any kind of syno will work and they are relatively common except for the above. Harder to find.
  3. What kind of filter? You mean a sump overflow? Glad he is o.k. Whenever I lose an expensive pleco I sit and think to myself. ....since when did my "algae eaters" become the most expensive fish in my tank. Funny how addiction changes you.
  4. You could have a pair of Archocentrus species in there. Convicts are the most common and a lot of fun however there are many other overlooked species such as spilurum, or sajica. If you wanted something a little more exotic you could go for honduran red point sp. http://www.tangledupincichlids.com/images/honduran.male.jpg If you wanted to go for a solo cichlid that is very aggressive you could look at a salvini in a planted tank with some mid, to top dwelling a FAST tetras. Lots of choices for neotropicals. There is absolutely no reason why you have to go african on us. :P
  5. Yes. Having said that that the situation would differ depending on the waste accumulated. As far as smaller holed sponges you do have to watch that as well. I used to use filter floss on the bottom and a sponge to hold it down. One day when the floss got full of crap I spilled about 10 gallons of water on the carpet via my ac and it could not drain into the tank fast enough. By the way this happened in a couple days, not a couple weeks. Best thing to use in my opionion is sponges, just make sure they are cleaned every week and replaced when you think they are not coming clean anymore.
  6. So this tangeld up in cichlids thing Smokey. Bad idea?? check out his site. www.tangledupincichlids.com Look at the $250 fee.
  7. I just heard back from Jeff. (he was at the ACA convention) No cdn supplier. The order is going to have to be over $500-$600 U.s to be worth it with the $250 shipping. . How many people do we have....not as many as when we first brought this up. Come on people?
  8. I just picked up a couple fingerling pbass. Either occelaris, or monos (not sure yet)I am pumped regardless. I have them both eating at this point so that is a good thing. For anyone who doesn't know they are very fragile when young. I am just looking for a friend here. Anybody kept them.
  9. I didn't specify as it really depend on the fish you keep and how much waste is collected. I usually judge by trying to rinse it out. It it still seems like particles are stuck in there no matter how much you rinse it, I would get rid of it.
  10. I would like to mention that Foam blocks, not matter where they come from start to become nitrate traps no matter how much you rinse them. Any fish that are sensitive to nitrates should replace them over time. When they start to get old.
  11. http://www.riverwonders.com/intshipping.html Well somebody better change their web page then.
  12. http://www.riverwonders.com/catalog/c7_p1.html They sell them and with a flat shipping rate to Canada of $20 I think it is an o.k. deal. As Smokey said $80 U.s
  13. I think the site would be honored to be mentioned on a site for a store that is one of the main reasons there are so many good fishkeepers in Alberta.
  14. I am. I sent Jeff Rapps an email and haven't heard back. I will let everyone know. " Hi Jeff. I guess this order may come through after all. A bunch of guys I know are wanting to put together a group order. Just to check with you. You do not have any Canadian afilliates at this point do you? Just wondering whether it is better to go direct to yourself or not. If you could let us know how to go about this it would be appreciated. The order will be Calgary and surrounding area. Thanks Jeff. Your stock list is just getting to amazing to ignore. Kind regards, Tim Kane "
  15. Oxquo do you want to set this up, or you want me to. Great suggestion.
  16. Welcome. What kind of cats do you keep?
  17. So can everybody just post here on what you want and how much money you want to spend. If you go to the website www.tangledupincichlids.com you can check the price list and availability. Post what you want here. I was thinking of waiting for a couple weeks as Jeff will have those rivilatus and temensis pbass in so we have some time. He also has something for the african fans. Hemichromis fasciatus and elongatus. These are not your pet store jewels. Very rare and larger.

  21. Yes they do buddy. Couple more people we will be there.
  22. Other than fish stores there is Oasis spas. Get pool filter sand which is not nearly as dirty. You can also get blasting sand from princess auto which comes in black. Unfortunately they haven't had it in a while.
  23. Fishopolis forgive me for saying is useless...to us anyway. They do not ship and as far as I know do not import for Jeff anymore. As for the haitiesis. I would love some....Canucklehead and I have been looking for a long time now. When we find them I will get you some.
