  1. If you ever need a safe place for some apistos.....I volunteer my tank!! lol!!
  2. I'm going to try. The lil guy is camera shy. It is from nose to tail about an inch long now. I will try to get some better pics after I get home from work today. So sometime after 6 pm.
  3. Well...I thought I lost this guy....he escaped my breeder trap when he was still small. But I found him today after about two weeks of being absent. He is much bigger now....if it is a he. I'm not sure, can anyone tell?
  4. I couldn't remember which one it was. ...thanks
  5. That would be sweet!! Let me know if it works out.
  6. the HRP decided to eat all her eggs, so there will be no fry. to bad. -05- Oh well, what can ya do.
  7. I think my husband would kill me!... But It would be an idea. I mean he did say if I ever found a lost chihuahua puppy and tried really hard to find the owner...but couldn't I could keep it. So this would be like the same thing right? -roll- I just need to now find a way of keeping all seven of my bettas housed in the same area....and putting that near all of my other tanks. If I could draw up some plans for some type of insane betta condo (or if anyone else has a good idea) then my fish area would be pretty much complete.
  8. I've tried, but everytime I pull out the camera he hides under the driftwood again. next time I move stuff around I'll just catch him and take a pic then. Probably would be easier that way. I just got rid of my molly fry, but from the looks of my three molly females, I'll probably have more by the end of the day.
  9. Well, here is a picture of my aquariums. I laugh cause it's the closest I'll ever get to my very own fishroom unless I get a house (currently living in an apartment). In total, I have four tanks not including the seven bettas I care for as well. Please ignore the mess.....it's been a long work week. The 29 galllon houses: -2 keyhole cichlid -1 honduran red point -4 panda cory -2 spotted cory -1 common pleco -1 synadontis m something.... -1 long fin goby -several balloon molly -4 platy -2 otocinclus -a handfull of honey gourami -3 emporer tetra The 5 gallon houses: -1 lionhead goldfish -1 pearlscale goldfish The 10 G (up top)houses: -snails -balloon molly fry (soon to be dunl's) The bottom 10 G houses: -2 very much in love honey gourami
  10. I love how that looks!!! I'll totally have to try that.....hmmm maybe my husband will let me expand the pet budget this month to include terra cotta and silicone.....it looks great.
  11. Thanks. That shouldn't be a problem.
  12. No problem on the hijack there, I love the pictures. And I want those wigglers as soon as they are available. What is the best type of setup for these guys? lots of plants...lil plants? driftwood, no driftwood....yadda yadda?
  13. I'm actually not too sure. You would have to ask fatpuffer on that one.
  14. Here are a couple of pictures of the apisto that fatpuffer gave me as a fry. it's about a cm and a half long.
  15. I will definitely do that. I love their color....and they are silly in some of their mannerisms. So count me in when you have some you are ready to get rid of. I Plan on clearing out my current fry tank (full of inch long balloon mollies)...Hoping my work will take them but if anyone is willing to come to red deer and want some mollies or whatever....PM me. Maybe we can arrange something. If these eggs don't turn out to be fertile, I'll probably breed my honey gouramis again instead.
  16. Well I woke up this morning to this site: Now I used to have two honduran redpoints, of which I believed one was male, the other female. Now one of them died a few days ago....and I'm pretty pretty sure it was the male. I got up this morning, and noticed eggs attached to a rock in my tank....then I noticed the female honduran red point fanning and guarding them. Now I honestly can't tell how long they were there before I noticed them. What are the chances they are fertile? and is there any way to tell from the photo? Would the female just lay eggs for the hell of it? She has been pretty fat and ready for a while.

    Betta

    awesome!!! keep us updated.
  18. no, they weren't to bad for price. Plus I get my discount. I'm just keeping my eye on them to see if any are male and female of the five I got. I would love to get some fry from them if I can.
  19. hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on these little fish. They are really cute.
  20. Let me find my camera and take a few pics. These guys are about half the size of my honey gouramis. And from what I was told they are not very common at all. edit: well here is a pic of what I have five of. They were labeled true honey gourami. This little guy is maybe two cm long. from research I can find online I find mention of the name colisa chuna.......don't know if that helps or means anything at all.
  21. I wouldn't mind if they were females, but I am actually gonna try and have another spawn by next week. My males are ready, and my females are fat with eggs.
  22. I was wondering who bought the last one. Well it's nice to know it made the trip safely. good luck.
  23. I agree. If the title interests me I'll open it. If not....it gets marked as read. I read some of the funnies, but don't really find them annoying. Besides, a lot of the serious talk does fit into a lot of the other categories listed on this forum.
  24. Well after a couple of near boilings (damned heater doesn't work properly), and many losses. I am proud to say that I have two beautiful (most likely female) honey gourami. they are just over a cm long now and thriving. I will try and get pictures.....hopefully I will have future spawns...and with a new heater maybe a higher yield next time.
  25. I have acquired five "true" honey gourami, and was wondering if anybody has had any experience with them. I would also really love to know if they are as easy to sex as the honey gourami?
