TheGr8Blade
Was reading this on the CAS website http://www.calgaryaquariumsociety.com/bap.php Does anyone participate in this program? I wish I would have noticed this before with all the livebearers I have I could have my Master Breeders plaque by now. But seriously, could someone explain if they are involved in doing this. Thanks! Toirtis
I've done it...pretty easy really...what details would you like to know?
TheGr8Blade
I fill the application and describe what I am doing, then they take my word for it on how many fry I have? Probably too too long for you to write out. Next time we meet up in person or talk on the phone I will ask you all about it.....Thanks! Toirtis
You fill out the application, and a designated 'spotter' comes and witnesses and counts the fry at a certain point, and again a couple-three weeks later. It is all done locally, and at year's end, info gets sent to CAOAC for national/international recognition, and you go into a 'breeders directory', get plaques, etc.
TheGr8Blade
Very cool! Will really have to think about this.
Toirtis
You know, the CAS is looking for a HAP person (and possibly BAP, too)...you could always jump right in and really immerse yourself in it (pretty easy learning curve). Vallisneria
I have been thinking about doing BAP for a while now but I wasn't too sure how it worked. Can anyone be a spotter? I'm assuming it has to be a club member. Can it be any member or does it have to be the BAP person?

HOSStile
I can't believe I didn't get spotters for all the babies my fish brought into the world, should have Electric Blue 2s anyday now. TheGr8Blade
Not fair....Trying to sell the evidence of livebearers LOL! I know at last count HOSStile had 1562 fry all 6 months old exactly. He is only 438 fry away from the 2000 point club and his fish are all holding. Cross my heart Hope to die Stick a BAP plaque in my eye!
