Turns out that this is a crab (or flower) spider, most likely Misumena vatia and most likely female. These spiders do not build webs to trap prey, but are active hunters which grab pollinating insects. Too cool. Here's another (unidentified) spider on the side of our car. You can even see the mica flecks in the paint. No idea how he gets that much detail in the shot.
