JORG
How long does it usually take for Rusties and Electric Yellows to reach full size? From fry to fully matured..... approximately Your question is hard to answer---tank size ---type of filtration--type of food--temperature---water changes---genetics---etc. there are too many variables to give you an exact time frame
RDFISHGUY
Full grown 7mos-1yr depending on the variables JORG mentioned. I've seen spawning as early as 4 mos.

One of the fish has stayed extremely small though kinda Neat lil guy Just curious as a saw an electric yellow in a LFS and it was double the size of mine which i have had since august I was quite surprised when my F1 group started to spawn. I thought they were just too small. After talking to African Fever about this, I now know that the wilds are usuallly smaller than the multi-generation store bought yellows. My dominant male is about 3 1/2" long and he is almost 2 years old. I hope this helps. Leon
RDFISHGUY
If you stick to a quality pellet like NLS and don't overfeed they will stay between 2.5-4" . This is perfectly normal. A yellow lab larger than this is likely fed a diet too high in fat and /or has some weird genetics.
