African_Fever
GARF has info about glass thickness too. When using a plywood tank you can go with a thinner glass than strictly glass construction, because you're not relying on the glass for nearly as much structural strength. Try punching some numbers into the GARF tank calculator and see what you come up with.
Shai
Fantastic article, great info. Unless I missed it while reading, it would be great if you could include the finished tank dimensions and gallonage in the first post. : )
African_Fever
Well, the tank has been up for over a month now with no problems at all. The rays have been in there the whole time, and I don't forsee any other issues with anything. With it being breakup for me now, I've got some time off, and will probably start building another tank or two in the next couple of weeks. I also found a better source for cut glass for the front, and can probably build just about any size tank up to 96x48wx24t for about $600 or less - if anyone is interested in a tank, let me know! It's always easier/more efficient to paint a couple at a time than just one tank.

bosshog
I need two but you have to come help me build a new house to put around them first. Good to hear of the success, always makes it that much more satisfying when you did it yourself. Brad
