patrick
First some pics of the dominant Ptyochromis sp. "Hippo Point Salmon". I got 3 females for my 3 lonely males today. It did not take long before this male colored up. Here are some fry pics. Paralabidochromis chromogynos - +1" Paralabidochromis sp. "Redfin piebald" - 1/2" Xystichromis sp. "Dayglow" - 3/4"

Slough Shark
Very nice fish. Is the hippo point an algae scraper?
patrick
Very nice fish. Is the hippo point an algae scraper? They are specialized snail eaters. Their natural habitat is in the muddy/sandy areas of Lake Victoria. I have not seen them in action myself but apparently they are very good at getting the snail out of the shell.
