Well the collection has grown, and here is the most recent shots from my 75 gallon "challenged" cichlid tank.

1. Hybrid Male Mbuna ( lips like a trumpet player, no bottom jaw really at all.) 2.75 years old

2. Chipokee Cichlid ( Born with one eye, and Jay Leno's chin) 1.25 years old

3. Gold Compressiceps ( Lower half of head and jaw, twisted 30 degress, double anal fin) 1.25 years old

4. Fire cracker Leleupi ( Deformed snout) 1.25 years old

5. Red Jewel (Just about everything wrong with its head) 1.25 years old

6. Red Zebra Female ( Tail and back birth defect) 2.75 years old

7. Copadichromis Azureus ( Slightly deformed snout) 2.00 years old

8. Red Jewel ( Head and gill plate are a litlle........ off) 1.25 years old

9. Female Red Empress " Birdie" ( Entire head, gill plate, and half her back crushed as fry) This fish is my absolute favorite even over my Oscar and Clown Knife. The most social, happy little fish Ive ever owned....and I didn't think she would make through the first week. I've had her for over three years now.

10. 7.75" Male Green Terror (Perfectly healty, nothing at all wrong with him) he is the enforcer, always placid but if a fight breaks out between the little guys, he puts a stop to it, then goes back to touring around. He doesn't feel threatened so he is quite content. he's been in there for 2.75 years.

Thanks, most of these guys were sent to stores, and were constantly passed over, all the other fish got bought and they were left for weeks or months.

Most of the reputable lfs just give them to me, at one point I had so many that I just couldn't house any more. So a lot were left at the stores, and I assume used as feeders. I've lost a couple along the way, they were just to far gone to survive.

The best thing about these guys, is most have facial problems, they can't bite each other!!!!! So I have all the incredible color and activity of an african tank with much much less aggression.

I've recently sold all of the normal fish from this tank.( other than my terror) So if a couple of more show up, I can house them.

That is HILARIOUS!

I can't believe you gathered that many screwed up fish! Actually, scratch that, I can, I've seen lots of 'em in different LFS's.

That's great that you keep them all like that.

What is the fish in the 6th picture? It has NO FACE!

Boom :boom:

The fish in picture # 6 is "One Eye" he is a chipokee cichlid (similar to an auratus) thats him in # 7 as well, thats his good side.

He is very interested in people... when my hand is in the tank he always follows me around, and brushes up against me.

The personalities these fish have is incredible, so entertaining.

HAHA your one eyed sounds like my one eye gourami, she always comes and kisses me and rubs up and down my hand. shes the first to come check me out when I come over. Keep up the good work, just cause they look this way doesn't mean they don't need some love too!

This post is 12yrs old. You need to look at the dates as nobody is going to answer you plus this site is dead. Best to go to Facebook groups or Monsterfish keepers if you want people to reply.
