  1. You know I can't resist Betta Fry... Very nice thanks for sharing !
  2. I also, use decapsulated brine shrimp eggs. although, baby betta fry don't like to eat anything if it isn't moving drives me batty.
  3. It appears to me that at first it was an abrasion from a fight... but because its an open sore fungal infection set in and slowly eating away at the area. I would do a treatment for fungal infections Saprolegnia fungus especially.
  4. Any foods with a high protein is the best. I like to use BBS HBH Fry Foods Microworms as first foods. I am thinking about getting grindle worms as well, I believe TNT has cultures
  5. Good luck  Their fry is prob going to be the size of guppies lol OMG !!
  6. I am a bit confused, do you have platys with your shrimp and a Betta? Copper is not good for any invert, this also could be a problem there are test kits out there to see if your water holds any traces of copper. Platy's could be eating your shrimp, betta's might as well... I have seen my betta girls swallow a baby pleco fry whole and the pleco fry was the size of a shrimp... I was surprised to say the least !! I doubt its stress but one of the two above factors I would suspect, also shrimp if they feel threatened are fanastic hiders. You seem to have a well planted tank so they might be hiding.
  7. Well, Congrats!! Next time you will be more prepared Good luck on the next spawn attempt
  8. They certainly look alot like L264... hahha would be wonderful if its a totally new sub species of the L264 or a new species altogether... !!
  9. For the Females in a 10 gal tank would work great, you can put up to 5 min in a tank, to 8 max...
  10. Oh, that's great news... Thanks Jvision... I was a bit concerned... more pleco babies yeah!! LOL
  11. Okay, so the other day I got a glimse of my other male LongFin Pleco... he had fur growing on his two front fins. I at a glance thought it was fungal. So, I started treatment!! Well today I had to dig around the tank to find him, he is a fantastic hider !! :boxed: I wanted to make sure the meds were working. I pulled the stump out where he was hiding to take a closer look, the fungus wasn't gone oh no I pulled him closer for a better look, its not Fungal!! OH what the heck is it... it looks like its part of him... Looks like tenticles orange? This does not appear on my other male, its at the elbows of the front ventril fins... I hope I explained it right Is this normal growth or something of a genetic flaw? Or am I going to do the toilet bowl funeral soon? Any idea's would be appreciated... I tried looking up images of other males I haven't seen anything like it..
  12. We faired with 8 hours of no power, so far our tanks had no problems thus far... .x fingers BUt the worse for us was our Internet tower went down, it actually was snapped in half... we were out of internet until just now... so sorry about the delays in pm's :boxed: But we are back in business
  13. I am feeding them on NLS foods small fish community and NLS wafers...
  14. Okay, so the Red Crystals are in one tank... the Black Crystals are in another but in the BCS tank you can see RCS the Black Crystals are actually the dominate gene of Red, and some of my BCS produce RCS Basically the RCS can't produce BCS but the BCS can Produce RCS ... oh and that lonely ole boy is my bristle nose pleco who shares with my RCS, my BCS share with another Long fin albino Bristlenose pair I have that are almost at breeding age... Oh Mumba's fish room is a busy one lol
  15. Okay I have taken photo's its my photography skills not Patrick's... so, excuse the quality of them ! LOL The second last picture is Momma, coming out to investigate wafers, and the last photo is their tank mates... the betta's leave the pleco's alone.. as you can see my tank is covered with baby pleco's.. There has to be over 50 maybe even more then 70, I have not tryed to count. Patrick and I are in the process of doing an experiment, my water is specially conditioned with R/O mix and minerals because our well water has a ph of 8.8 high with sodium.. this high PH water works great for our victorians but not so great for breeding betta's although betta's do well in this water when adult but fry are never produced.. I also breed shrimp which wouldn't do so great in these extremes. So, Patrick and I took 4 baby pleco's at 3 days old to see if the extreme water difference would effect them in anyway. It appears it doesn't so far, we are waiting for a bit longer to move these guys over to a larger more roomy tank this tank is only 10 gals, and mom and dad pleco are very prolific so far the dad pleco is in his cave always... and she is almost ready to go again :boxed:
  16. Get some Kanaplex, and primafix I believe Henry at Natures Corner has some...
  17. Give him another option for a cave... PVC pipe might work... he might not like the pot.. the more options for him to hide the better... Also I just did a test and my PH is at 7.6
  18. I will have to check my water PH etc... do you have a cave ??? Also, mimic the rainy season helps alot, do alot of water changes 10 % every second day... feeding them some protein also helps.
  19. Let me know if she eats that, I have another plan of action if this doesn't work
  20. I sent you a pm Also, you should drop by and see them!!
